COLLEGE BASEBALL: USCAA TOURNAMENT TEAMS

Here are the nine teams participating in the 2016 USCAA College World Series:

ONE SEED

Institution: COLLEGE OF SAINT JOSEPH’S (sic)

Team Name: FIGHTING SAINTS

Comment: The Fighting Saints were last year’s Runners-Up and hope to settle unfinished business in this year’s tourney.

TWO SEED

Institution: ROCHESTER COLLEGE

Team Name: WARRIORS

Comment: Year in and year out Rochester College seems to wind up in the USCAA Championship Series. They plan to make it further than in 2015.

THREE SEED

Institution: UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI AT CLERMONT

Team Name: COUGARS

Comment: The Cougars are just three years removed from their most recent National Championship and are poised to inflict some serious damage.

FOUR SEED

Institution: NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL

Team Name: BUILDERS

Comment: The Builders are the defending National Champions and certainly have their work cut out for them against this year’s talented pool of teams.

FIVE SEED

Institution: ROBERT MORRIS UNIVERSITY AT PEORIA

Team Name: EAGLES

Comment: RMU-Peoria is making its very first appearance in the USCAA Baseball Tournament and hopes to stick around.

SIX SEED

Institution: WRIGHT STATE AT THE LAKE

Team Name: LAKERS

Comment: The Lakers are also first-timers in this year’s World Series playoffs. This season they defeated UC-Clermont and Rochester so don’t underestimate them.

SEVEN SEED

Institution: PENN STATE UNIVERSITY AT DUBOIS

Team Name: LIONS

Comment: The Lions have been one of this season’s feel-good stories, making the Tournament in their first baseball season in roughly thirty years.

EIGHT SEED

Institution: CLEARY UNIVERSITY

Team Name: PROWLING COUGARS

Comment: The pitching staff for the Prowling Cougars has consistently ranked in the Top Five, making them more dangerous than the average Eight Seed.

NINE SEED

Institution: PENN STATE UNIVERSITY AT BEAVER  

Team Name: NITTANY LIONS

Comment: PSU-Beaver made it so that the Penn State University System once again had multiple teams in the USCAA playoff field.
