Although the Democrats held a presser to announce their return to Austin, they are denying that they will return now.
These types of antics cause me to think of the Native Americans who said of politicians, “He speaks with a forked tongue.”

Great posts as always. I rarely take interest in politics but as always found your posts to be extremely engaging to read. It brought to mind great political movies that I have seen and love. For instance, the discussion of scandals brought to mind great films about political scandals that I have seen. There are many great movies about political scandals that I really appreciated. The movie that came to mind is “The Ides of March”. Released in 2011, George Clooney’s movie captured presidents facing political scandals in an election. One of my favourite political films of all-time. It tackles similar themes to the issues you discussed in this post.

Everything we knew was happening is being exposed. Now, people have to take it seriously and stop living in denial. Until some important people go to jail, though, it will be too easy to sweep it under the rug.
Absolutely right about how anyone paying attention knew it was happening. I agree it is still up in the air if it will all be swept under the rug like so much in the past.
