Tariffs funded the federal government before the national income tax was instituted. Hint-hint. Do you notice how some states are eliminating state income tax? And now, there’s a move toward eliminating property taxes. Tariffs didn’t hurt the economy during Trump’s first term. People are reacting (and overreacting) to sudden change. And Democrats don’t want any change at all. They just keep pushing the same failed policies.
I agree. Anti-Trumpers are just exploiting the fact that so few people still understand tariffs. And yes, more states are dropping their own income tax and we’ll see if personal property taxes go next. Democrats keep pushing the same “Every week is the Apocalypse” hysteria that they pushed during Trump’s first term.
