Here at Balladeer’s Blog I always love it when the unexpected happens. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has been endorsing the Democrat in every presidential race since 1976, but here in 2020 they just endorsed de facto Third Party President Donald Trump. Their reasons are many, so the link is below for anyone who wants to read their exhaustive list of reasons why Trump is the candidate of the working class and the poor.
By the way, President Trump saving the U.S. economy TWICE now has played a huge part in the Donald’s appeal to voters. The GDP’s historic 3rd Quarter growth of THIRTY-THREE point one percent is wonderful news … for everyone except anti-Trump fascists.
Here are just a few excerpts from the Post-Gazette‘s endorsement:
“Let’s look at the Trump record:
*** “Under Donald Trump the economy, pre-COVID, boomed, like no time since the 1950s. Look at your 401(k) over the past three years.”
*** “Unemployment for Black Americans is lower than it has ever been, under any president of either party.” (NOTE FROM BALLADEER: That’s because Trump isn’t married to Democrat or Republican dogma and therefore is willing to take economic measures that upset many zealots in both parties.)
*** “Under Mr. Trump, our trade relationships have vastly improved and our trade deals have been rewritten. Thanks to him, middle America is on the map again and the Appalachian and hourly worker has some hope.” (NOTE FROM BALLADEER: And that REALLY outrages the callous, comfortable and uncaring one percenters in both parties.)
*** “No one ever asked the American people, or the people in “flyover,” country, if they wanted to send their jobs abroad — until Mr. Trump. He has moved the debate, in both parties, from free trade, totally unfettered, to managed, or fair, trade.”
*** “Finally, let’s talk about one of the most important concerns in this region — energy. Under Mr. Trump the United States achieved energy independence for the first time in the lifetimes of most of us.”
*** “No one masters a pandemic” was the Post-Gazette‘s very insightful and appropriate response which can be offered to any anti-Trump hatemongers who exploit Covid for political purposes. They continued with “And the president was and is right that we must not cower before the disease and we have to keep America open and working.”
Then, the Post-Gazette pointed out why it was not endorsing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, including their willingness to surrender civil rights to the fascist mobs calling themselves “woke” as well as Biden’s clearly weak, mentally frail and decrepit condition.
The paper noted that Biden will likely not last through even one term and that Kamala Harris shows no signs of being prepared to handle the presidency.

Voted Republican across the board for the first time in my life this time. I remain stunned at the blatant….childishly transparent, ridiculous and dangerous lies told about Trump…and that they are believed by so many!!! I stopped being a Democratic years ago…but stayed registered as such because those are ultimately our only choices. Once Trump gets a second term, maybe he could kick AG Barr in the nuts a couple times and get him to finally arrest some deep state scum. Is there some reason he can’t fire the upper echelons of the worthless FBI? But hey, let’s investigate Trump supporters following a Biden bus around.
I hope you’re right about the results! I agree that Barr talks tough but lapses into “useless” mode when the chips are down. The way the Democrats have corrupted the federal bureaucracy is even more disgusting than the old “Spoils System” that Democrats loved in which they would fire every federal worker and replace them with their lackeys. One step may be Trump’s recent executive order about redefining Civil Service designation for many federal positions in policy-making decisions liable for firing instead of being kept on no matter how poorly they perform. I think any president of either party should be able to bring in their own people to most of those positions. The elected president should set policy, not be hindered by career bureaucrats.
Democratic plan, I think, is to oust both halves of a Kammie-Joey ticket if elected, whether for reasons of health, sanity, or criminality, to get that decrepit looney from Californina in place to really get the ball rolling.
