*** NJCAA ***
DISTRICT E: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this District – the CENTURY COLLEGE WOOD DUCKS and the SAINT CLOUD TECH CYCLONES – did battle to see which of them would get their ticket punched to the NJCAA College World Series. When all of the dust had settled in this duel on the diamond the storied Wood Ducks had defeated the Cyclones by a final score of 9-5. * THE WOOD DUCKS ARE CHAMPIONS OF DISTRICT E *
DISTRICT D: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the champions of Region 310 against the champions of Region 320. The MONTGOMERY COLLEGE RAPTORS – the champs from Region 320 – faced the DANVILLE COLLEGE KNIGHTS, who had taken the Region 310 crown. The Raptors completely owned the Knights in this absolute blowout of a game. Montgomery College annihilated Danville College by a score of SEVENTEEN to TWO! * THE RAPTORS ARE CHAMPIONS OF DISTRICT D *
DISTRICT B: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Two Regional champs did battle in this game as well. The WAUBONSEE COLLEGE CHIEFS came in as the champions of Region 304, while their opponents, the SCHOOLCRAFT COLLEGE OCELOTS, took the title in Region 312. This was another lopsided game as the Chiefs proceeded to grind the Ocelots into a fine powder, then blow that powder away. The final tally in this game was Chiefs 16 Ocelots 3. * THE CHIEFS ARE CHAMPIONS OF DISTRICT B *
DISTRICT A: DAY TWO – The 2nd seeded HERKIMER COLLEGE GENERALS had the Sword of Damocles hanging over them in the form of a Day One loss, so they needed to win both their games yesterday. First the Generals spanked the 4 seeds – the JEFFERSON COLLEGE CANNONEERS – to the tune of 11-1. Next Herkimer College kicked around the 3rd seeded ONONDAGA COLLEGE LAZERS (sic) 13-5. ### And the top seeded NIAGARA COUNTY COLLEGE THUNDER WOLVES shut out those same Lazers 9-0.
SOUTHEAST DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In keeping with the theme of so many non-competitive baseball games today, this District Championship Game was also pretty much of a laugher. The top seeds – the BRUNSWICK (NC) COLLEGE DOLPHINS – had their way with the 2nd seeded PATRICK HENRY COLLEGE PATRIOTS. The final score turned out to be Dolphins 22 Patriots 9, which sounds like an NFL score. * THE DOLPHINS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE SOUTHEAST DISTRICT *
PLAINS DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The upset-minded WESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE PIONEERS went to bat against the METROPOLITAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE AT LONGVIEW LAKERS yesterday. This was a best-of- three series, with the Pioneers having already defeated the Lakers 7-0. Western Oklahoma State made it a sweep with a 10-5 triumph to take the District crown. * THE PIONEERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE PLAINS DISTRICT *
NORTHEAST DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The MERCER COUNTY COLLEGE VIKINGS took the diamond against the COLLEGE OF BALTIMORE COUNTY AT ESSEX KNIGHTS in this game. A 4-2 Vikings lead in the 1st Inning was deceptively close as, by the 5th Mercer County College had extended that to a 10-3 advantage. From there the flood was on as the Vikings made it a 25-8 blowout for Pitcher Zach Gakeler. * THE VIKINGS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE NORTHEAST DISTRICT *
NORTH DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The SINCLAIR COLLEGE TARTAN PRIDE squared off against the KELLOGG COLLEGE BRUINS. This game was tight for awhile as the Tartan Pride and the Bruins were knotted up at 1-1 in the 1st Inning and 4-4 in the 3rd. After that Kellogg College only mustered 1 more run while Sinclair College put up 9 additional runs for a 13-5 victory. * THE TARTAN PRIDE ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE NORTH DISTRICT *
Go Tartan Pride!
Always good to hear from the fans!
Dude why are you so into college baseball?
Because I like how compact the season is in college baseball.
