* NCAA D3 *
Yesterday the NCAA Division 3 World Series Champions were crowned. The LINFIELD COLLEGE WILDCATS and the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MAINE HUSKIES were the last two teams standing. In a battle of cats and dogs the Huskies scored a run in the 1st inning and led 1-0 until the bottom of the 4th. At that point the Wildcats put up 4 runs of their own. Neither team gave up any more points, making the final score 4-1. Congratulations Linfield!
* NJCAA3 *
In Division Three of the NJCAA the championship game went from being a classic to a blowout in one half of an inning. The upstart CENTURY COLLEGE WOOD DUCKS and the GLOUCESTER COLLEGE ROADRUNNERS were all tied up at 3-3 after 4 full innings of play. In the top of the 5th the Roadrunners “beep-beeped” out TEN RUNS and from there the outcome was never in doubt. The final score was Roadrunners 16 Wood Ducks 4. Congratulations to Gloucester on their 7th baseball championship!
* NAIA *
In yesterday’s 1st semifinal the 7th seeded LEWIS-CLARK STATE WARRIORS pulled off yet ANOTHER upset to advance to the championship game. The Warriors trailed the 3rd seeded EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY EAGLES 3-2 going into the 5th inning. From there the Lewis-Clark bats exploded resulting in a 13-7 win for the Warriors. ### And the top seeded FAULKNER EAGLES used two big innings, scoring 4 runs each in the 6th and the 8th, to eliminate the 2nd seeded LEE UNIVERSITY FLAMES. The Flames assembled 4 runs in piecemeal fashion over 9 innings, losing to Faulkner 8-4.
* NCAA D2 *
The GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY LAKERS handed the UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA SPARTANS their 1st loss so far in the 2013 D2 World Series, forcing another game on the 31st. The Lakers had a 4-0 lead by the 3rd inning at which point both teams’ defenses clamped down hard. Grand Valley State won this 4-0 shutout. The ST EDWARDS UNIVERSITY HILLTOPPERS and the MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS are also still alive.

The COCHISE COLLEGE APACHES completely eviscerated the NEOSHO COLLEGE PANTHERS in their elimination game. In a game that will have the Neosho players and coaches rethinking their lives the Apaches annihilated the Panthers SIXTEEN to ONE! ### And the CENTRAL ALABAMA COLLEGE TROJANS stayed unbeaten in Series play by doubling up on the SPARTANBURG METHODIST COLLEGE PIONEERS 10-5.
