On Day 2 for this World Series the 10th seeded ROGERS STATE UNIVERSITY HILLCATS eliminated the 6th seeded YORK (NE) PANTHERS in a thrilling 4-1 upset. The score was tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the 6th when the Hillcats bats started adding runs. ### The 4 seeds, the NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY (TX) KNIGHTS, scored a run in the 1st inning, little dreaming it would be the only run logged in the entire game. The Knights bounced the 8th seeded STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS in this 1-0 pitcher’s duel. ### The 2nd seeded LEE UNIVERSITY FLAMES and the 7th seeded LEWIS-CLARK STATE WARRIORS were involved in an outright orgy of scoring yesterday. The game was tied at 10-10 headed into the 6th before the Flames started pulling away for a 14-11 victory. ### And the top seeded FAULKNER EAGLES won a 2-0 game for the ages against the 9 seeds, College World Series newcomers the MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS.
* NCAA D2 *
Day One of the NCAA Division 2 World Series began with the FRANKLIN PIERCE UNIVERSITY RAVENS taking on the SHIPPENSBURG UNIVERSITY RED RAIDERS. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 8th inning when the Ravens got on the board with one run. They then shut down the Red Raiders one last time in the top of the 9th to walk away with a 1-0 triumph. ### And in the only other game played yesterday in D2’s Series the MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS clashed with the GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY LAKERS. This was another game for those who love defense, with the Lakers kept scoreless and the Mavericks notching just one run each in the 4th and 6th innings for a 2-0 win.
* NCAA D3 *
On Day Two of D3’s World Series the UW-STEVENS POINT POINTERS kept their winning mojo going. The Pointers battled the KEAN UNIVERSITY COUGARS and trailed them 3-1 going into the 8th inning. Stevens Point put up 3 runs in the top of the 8th and then contained KU the rest of the way to win by a score of 4-3. ### The WEBSTER UNIVERSITY GORLOKS survived an elimination game against the MANCHESTER SPARTANS. The score was 1-1 after 3 innings but then the Gorloks began easing away slowly but surely, ultimately winning this 5-3 Instant Classic. ### Meanwhile the ITHACA COLLEGE BOMBERS eliminated the MILLSAPS COLLEGE MAJORS 5-2. The Bombers led 3-1 in the 5th and kept the game under control from there on. ### And the LINFIELD COLLEGE WILDCATS scored 5 runs in the 1st inning on their way to a 10-1 evisceration of the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MAINE HUSKIES.
* NJCAA1 *
Day One of the NJCAA Division One Series got started with the CENTRAL ALABAMA COLLEGE TROJANS taking on the PALM BEACH STATE PANTHERS. The Panthers blew a 4-1 5th inning lead as the Trojans rallied for a 6-4 victory. ### In an offensive explosion the CONNORS STATE COWBOYS saw a 4-0 lead over the NAVARRO COLLEGE BULLDOGS become a 4-4 tie in the 5th inning. From there the shootout was on and the Cowboys at last walked away with a 10-9 win. ### Runs were scored in every inning in a scoring orgy between the WALTERS STATE SENATORS and the SPARTANBURG METHODIST COLLEGE PIONEERS. Things went from a 10-10 tie in the 6th to a 19-11 Pioneer victory by game’s end. ### And the MIDLAND COLLEGE CHAPARRALS annihilated the KASKASKIA COLLEGE BLUE ANGELS in an unfortunate 12-2 yawner.
* NJCAA2 *
In the NJCAA’s Division Two World Series the SCOTTSDALE FIGHTING ARTICHOKES got off to a hot start with a dominant 8-3 manhandling of the GRAND RAPIDS COLLEGE RAIDERS. ### The LSU-EUNICE BENGALS meanwhile had their hands full with the LACKAWANNA COLLEGE FALCONS, but came out with a 4-3 win. ### The BRUNSWICK COLLEGE DOLPHINS came out on the losing end of a 2-1 game for the ages with the MURRAY STATE (OK) AGGIES. ### And the NORTH IOWA COLLEGE TROJANS brought Day One to an end with a nailbiting 2-0 shutout of the MADISON COLLEGE WOLFPACK.
* NJCAA3 *
Opening Day for the NJCAA’s Division Three World Series was a mixed bag of defensive epics and offensive explosions. The WAUBONSEE COLLEGE CHIEFS shut out the BROOKHAVEN COLLEGE BEARS 2-0. ### Meanwhile after a TEN INNING Instant Classic the NASSAU COLLEGE LIONS emerged with a 2-1 victory over the NORTHERN ESSEX KNIGHTS. ### The NIAGARA THUNDER WOLVES mauled the MONTGOMERY COLLEGE RAPTORS by a final score of 15-7. ### And the CENTURY COLLEGE WOOD DUCKS were on the wrong side of a 9-0 beep-beeping from the GLOUCESTER COLLEGE ROADRUNNERS.
