DAY TWO, GAME ONE – This game pitted the UNIVERSITY OF LOS ANGELES COLLEGE OF DIVINITY CUBS against the RHEMA BIBLE COLLEGE EAGLES. (Didn’t I tell you there are WAAAYYY too many college teams called Eagles?)
The explosive 1st Half ended with the Cubs chasing the Eagles, who were on top 44-34. ULA College of Divinity came fighting back and forced Overtime with a 74-74 tie to end Regulation. In the extra session the Cubs slipped past Rhema Bible College in an 85-84 nailbiter. Jalen Holdford led ULACOD with 20 points and 8 rebounds.
DAY TWO, GAME TWO – Up next the KANSAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FALCONS took the court against the CHAMPION CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TIGERS.
An action-packed opening Half saw the Tigers muster a 44-42 edge over the Falcons. From there Kansas Christian College clamped down defensively and outscored Champion Christian College 37-33 for a 79-77 victory. Thirteen points from Wilkins Desir led the Falcons.
DAY TWO, GAME THREE – The CAROLINA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE CENTURIONS squared off against the OZARK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE AMBASSADORS, fresh off their Day One triumph.
The Centurions figuratively “threw them to the ground” on defense, smothering the Ambassadors for a FORTY-SIX to TWENTY Halftime lead. In the 2nd Half Carolina Christian College coasted for a 79-56 victory, led by Austin Robinson’s 22 points as well as by Artavius Love’s Double Double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Continue reading
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this tournament were the 4 seeds – the MID-ATLANTIC CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS – and the 2nd seeded TRINITY BAPTIST COLLEGE EAGLES. (Insert my usual remark about there being way too many college teams called Eagles.)
DAY ONE, GAME ONE – The storied OZARK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE AMBASSADORS opened the action with a game against the ASSOCIATION FREE LUTHERAN BIBLE SCHOOL CONQUERORS.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – A pair of Cinderellas vied for the Division One title in the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association). The 5th seeded ROCHESTER COLLEGE WARRIORS played the 6 seeds – the OAKWOOD UNIVERSITY AMBASSADORS.
FIRST SEMIFINAL – The 6th seeded OAKWOOD UNIVERSITY AMBASSADORS kept their Upset Mojo rolling, this time against the 2 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF MAINE AT FORT KENT BENGALS.
DAY ONE, GAME ONE – The 2018 Tournament in Division One of the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association) tipped off with the top seeded FLORIDA NATIONAL UNIVERSITY CONQUISTADORS taking on the 8 seeds – the BLUEFIELD STATE BIG B’s.
DAY ONE, GAME TWO – Up next the 6 seeds – the OAKWOOD UNIVERSITY AMBASSADORS – surprised the 3rd seeded FLORIDA COLLEGE FALCONS.
DAY ONE, GAME THREE – This game pitted the 2nd seeded UNIVERSITY OF MAINE AT FORT KENT BENGALS against the 7 seeds – the DEAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This Conference tourney was almost all-chalk, all the time and even came down to the top two seeds duking it out for the title. The top seeded COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES squared off against the 2 seeds – the WARNER PACIFIC COLLEGE KNIGHTS.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – A pair of One Seeds went at each other in this game, as the INDIANA UNIVERSITY EAST RED WOLVES – the top seeds in the River States East Division – played the INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS – the top seeds in the River States West Division.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The top seeds – the GOVERNORS STATE JAGUARS – took on the 2nd seeded ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS for the CCAC crown yesterday.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the STILLMAN COLLEGE TIGERS against the VOORHEES COLLEGE TIGERS, so you can insert my usual comment about how there are too many college sports teams called Tigers, Eagles, Bulldogs and Wildcats.
FIRST SEMIFINAL – The 3rd seeded NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS took the court against the 7 seeds – the DOANE UNIVERSITY TIGERS (Didn’t I tell you there are too many teams called Tigers?)
FIRST SEMIFINAL – End of a Dynasty! The 2nd seeded UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT MERCED GOLDEN BOBCATS ended the half-decade run in which the (3) CALIFORNIA MARITIME ACADEMY KEELHAULERS dominated the Cal Pacific Conference.
SECOND SEMIFINAL – This game pitted the top seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF ANTELOPE VALLEY PIONEERS – against the 4th seeded SIMPSON (CA) UNIVERSITY RED HAWKS.
OPENING ROUND, GAME ONE – The 3rd seeded THOMAS UNIVERSITY NIGHTHAWKS took the court against the 6 seeds – the COLLEGE OF COASTAL GEORGIA MARINERS.
