NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the 4 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF LOS ANGELES COLLEGE OF DIVINITY BEARS – against the 6th seeded OZARK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE AMBASSADORS. A shootout of a 1st Half ended with the Bears on top of the Ambassadors 52-45 before they went on to win it by a final score of 97-89. Jerron Wilbut led ULACOD with THIRTY-ONE points. * THE BEARS ARE ACCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS *
USCAA DIV TWO FINAL FOUR
FIRST SEMIFINAL – The 4th seeded NEW HAMPSHIRE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE LYNX took on the top seeds – the JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY WILDCATS. The Lynx had the Wildcats on Upset Alert at Halftime with a 40-38 edge. From there New Hampshire Tech got more and more separation from their opponents for a 98-76 triumph. USCAA DIVISION ONE
FIRST SEMIFINAL – The 6th seeded OAKWOOD UNIVERSITY AMBASSADORS kept their Upset Mojo rolling, this time against the 2 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF MAINE AT FORT KENT BENGALS.
The Bengals took a 37-32 lead into the locker room at the Half only to see the Ambassadors overtake them after the break. By game’s end Oakwood University was still alive in the tournament, having defeated UM-Fort Kent by a final score of 77-72. Talik Talton led the Ambassadors with 19 points and 7 rebounds. The Florida Christian College Suns (logo at left) came into the NCCAA tournament seeded 4th, but unfortunately had a rough time of it, losing both their opening round game and also the consolation bracket game. The Suns are definitely up and coming, however, and have added baseball recently, with swirling rumors about a possible football program as well.

The Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers (logo at left) were among the teams winning in yesterday’s NAIA2 tournament. In the USCAA2 tournament the top- seeded Central Penn Silver Knights were upset by 8th- seeded Berkeley College and 2nd- seeded Beaver (PA) fell to the 7 seeds, the College of St Joe Fighting Saints.
Cool-named teams falling yesterday were the Lourdes University Gray Wolves, the St Mary Spires, the Jamestown College Jimmies and the St Ambrose Fighting Bees.
