Regarding your third paragraph on the loss by Massie, we in Texas potentially have something akin with the Cornyn/Paxton primary. The stupid thing about all this is that Cornyn (as Majority Whip) could have done his bloody job and advanced the SAVE America Act. If he had just done that, then President Trump’s offer to endorse him (and Ken Paxton’s offer to drop out of the race) would have taken effect. However, in contradiction to Thune’s and Cornyn’s professed support of the bill, where are we?
Quite a complex situation. I wish I knew where we are in terms of nuking the filibuster and passing the SAVE act.
While I have heard hints of Cornyn wanting to nuke the filibuster, I have also heard statements from several Democrats that they WILL kill the filibuster the moment they regain power.
Oh I have too. I meant I wish we knew how close the Senate Republicans are to actually going ahead and nuking it since the Democrats will do it the first chance they get.
