I believe the closing map says a lot about the perversion of democracy the way it’s practiced under our political system raped as it is by formal political parties.
Perfectly put! Some people have proposed making it so that states should move to mini-electoral map models themselves, where winning a county is like winning a state and is worth X number of internal “electoral votes” for the state, meaning each county’s votes are worth just so much (still by population, of course, so that it’s not thrown out as a factor) to at least level the playing field. I don’t think that is the answer, though.
