I make no secret of the fact that years ago I was a Democrat, but that increasingly unhinged political party drove me and so many others to leave it and I became an Independent Voter. The courageous Tulsi Gabbard followed a path that is very familiar to the rest of us who decided to #WALKAWAY from the Democrats.
First she spoke out hoping to effect change in the Democrat Party by drawing attention to its abandonment of the working class and the poor. She also drew attention to the party’s still-increasing intolerance and its abandonment of free speech and other principles. And so on and so forth until the realization set in that the Democrats at present are a hopeless case and thrive on spreading hatred and division.
The former Congresswoman also said “I’m calling on my fellow commonsense, independent-minded Democrats to join me in leaving the Democratic Party. If you can no longer stomach the direction that so-called woke Democratic Party ideologues are taking our country, I invite you to join me.”
Welcome to the Party Exodus, Ms. Gabbard! Among her other remarks:
“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue”. Gabbard also pointed out how the Democrats:
… actively work to undermine our freedoms, demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, support illegal immigration, and weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents.

As usual, I never loved the Democrats and I called them racists even in the 1970s and 1980s. I was a Republican during Reagan and left them in 1989 during the Fall of the Berlin Wall. I have been Independent all of my life with the exception of my Republican era [1980s]
I understand! Thanks for commenting!
A pleasure and honor

I have been wondering whether anyone will join her. The most closely-aligned that I can see out there are Bernie and Beto. Bernie has no reason to step out against Chuckie Schumer right now (since doing so might cost him if Fetterman and Warnock can either buck current trends or arrange a 4 a.m. rally like Dementia Joe).
Likewise, the Mayonnaise Latinx (Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke) might lose funding from his numerous out-of-state sources if he renounced the party of bail reform and handouts.
Who do you think might jump? Stacy (never admit defeat) Abrams?
Hello! I don’t see any of the big names joining her, but I’m hoping some more voters may go ahead and get off the fence about leaving the party and just do it. I like that term “4am rally”. That says it all. The fact that Fetterman is even competitive is another reason to hate political party zealotry. We’ll see if even a friendly network pointing out how unfit he is will make a difference.
