COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM NOVEMBER 14th

Williamson Trade HelmetUSCAA FOOTBALL CHAMPS – The first college football championship of the 2015 season has been decided. The WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES MECHANICS were last season’s runners- up and this year are the National Champions in the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletics Association). This year’s runners- up are the NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS. For that old-school feel there is no championship game in the USCAA, just standings.  

Midwestern State MustangsUPSET IN THE TOP TEN – On a Saturday that was almost all-chalk there was only one upset of a team ranked in the Top Ten of the various four-year divisions covered here at Balladeer’s Blog. In NCAA Division Two the 11th ranked  MIDWESTERN STATE MUSTANGS traveled to face the number 8 team in the nation – the TEXAS A&M AT COMMERCE LIONS. COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM NOVEMBER 7th

Southeastern Fire helmet REALSOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY RULES THE WORLD – Plenty of times every college football season various NAIA teams upset teams in NCAA Division Two or even Division ONE. Yesterday the NAIA’s SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE were guests of NCAA D2’s BENEDICT COLLEGE TIGERS. The Fire managed a 35-20 upset of the higher division team.

Montana Tech OrediggersNUMBER ONE TAKES A FALL – Staying in the NAIA for the moment the 9th ranked MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS traveled to face the number 1 team in the nation – the Defending Champion SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY RAIDERS. The Orediggers won a 21-17 game for the ages that their fans will talk about for years to come. Continue reading

COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM OCTOBER 31st

* HEADLINES *

Hardin-Simmons CowboysNUMBER THREE TAKES A FALL – In the NCAA Division Three the 13th ranked HARDIN- SIMMONS UNIVERSITY COWBOYS hosted the number 3 team in the nation – the UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN- BAYLOR CRUSADERS. The Cowboys trailed the Crusaders 9-7 at Halftime but came back to win the game 29-26.

HELMETCampbellsville_KYTOPPLING NUMBER EIGHT – In the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) the number 20 CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS took it on the road against the 8th ranked LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS. COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM OCTOBER 24th

Georgetown (KY) TigersGEORGETOWN COLLEGE RULES THE WORLD – Once again an NAIA team has toppled a team from NCAA Division TWO. For newbies that’s like a 1AA team upsetting a 1A team. The GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS were on the road against NCAA D2’s ALDERSON- BROADDUS UNIVERSITY BATTLERS and clobbered them 28-15.

Winona StateNUMBER ONE TAKES A FALL – In NCAA Division Two the WINONA STATE WARRIORS traveled to face the number 1 team in the nation – the MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS. The Warriors brought down Number One in their own house in a 31-27 game for the ages. Continue reading

Edward Waters Tigers helmetEDWARD WATERS RULES THE WORLD – Another NAIA team has risen up to defeat an NCAA Division ONE team. The EDWARD WATERS COLLEGE TIGERS took part in the Jacksonville Football Classic against the Division One JACKSONVILLE UNIVERSITY DOLPHINS. The Tigers showed how football is played in the NAIA by routing the Dolphins 49-28. 

Lindsey_Wilson_KYNUMBER ONES STAY SAFE – The NAIA’s top ranked LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS survived a 24-19 visit from the (18) FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES     ###      In D2 the (1) MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS notched a 51-10 road crushing of the unranked CONCORDIA (St Paul) GOLDEN EAGLES     ###      And D3’s (1) MT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS annihilated the unranked HEIDELBERG UNIVERSITY STUDENT PRINCES 59-17.   Continue reading

COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM OCTOBER 10th

* HEADLINES *

Oshkosh TitansNUMBER ONE TAKES A FALL – In NCAA Division Three the number 15 UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT OSHKOSH TITANS upset the top ranked defending champions – the dynastic UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT WHITEWATER WARHAWKS. A 7-7 Halftime tie stayed in effect until the homestanding Titans managed a 4th Quarter Field Goal then blocked a Warhawk Field Goal attempt for a 10-7 win!  

Eastern Oregon helmetDOWN GOES NUMBER FOUR – In the NAIA the EASTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS traveled to Helena to face the number 4 team in the nation – the storied CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS. The Mountaineers surprised the Hellions from Helena by toppling them in a 28-21 Instant Classic!  Continue reading

COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM OCTOBER 3rd

* HEADLINES *

HELMETCampbellsville_KYNUMBER THREE TAKES A FALL – The NAIA’s CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS took it on the road against the number 3 team in the nation – the FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Furies). This was a true game for the ages but in the end the Tigers prevailed by a final score of 59-50.

mcmurry warhawks helmetMCMURRY STUNS DIVISION TWO – The NCCAA’s MCMURRY UNIVERSITY WAR HAWKS traveled to face the NCAA Division TWO team the LINCOLN (MO) UNIVERSITY BLUE TIGERS. In what was a truly unexpected result the War Hawks didn’t just win – they absolutely hammered the Blue Tigers. When all the dust had settled in this resounding upset the final tally was McMurry University 34  Lincoln University 14.   Continue reading

COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: THE LATEST

* HEADLINES *

Benedictine RavensNUMBER THREE GOES DOWN – Yesterday the NAIA’s BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS welcomed the number 3 team in the nation – the BAKER UNIVERSITY WILDCATS. This game was one for the ages as the Ravens managed a hard-fought 35-31 upset of the Wildcats. Benedictine College was ranked 18th two weeks ago, then fell from the rankings last week and this win will put them right back in again. 

Emory and Henry WaspsWASPS STING DIVISION ONE – The NCAA Division Three team the EMORY & HENRY COLLEGE WASPS took it on the road to face NCAA Division ONE’s EAST TENNESSEE STATE BUCCANEERS. The Wasps trailed 14-7 in the 1st Quarter and 17-14 at Halftime but came back for a 20-17 lead to end the 3rd Quarter. The teams exchanged Touchdowns in the 4th for a shattering 27-24 toppling of the D1 Buccaneers. Emory & Henry QB Kevin Saxton threw for 244 yds and 1 Touchdown.  Continue reading
