Thanks. It’s not just you, I was so disgusted when I wrote these.
Well. All I can say is we can blog out butts off but that ain’t gonna get the job done. Take yesterday, a local lowbody elected dude stopped by with a petition. We argued. He listened. I listened and in the end didn’t concede the issue but realized what he was pushing (a referendum) would take power from a remote government unit, giving it back to local governments, essentially increasing the power of everyone’s vote. I took up the cause. I’ve contacted others, pointing out there will be no specific bar, ban, or allowance but making it so every attempt to get a bar, ban, or allowance had to be approved nmot by some state crook but by a local one – which strikes me (and a few others so far) to make more sense. GOYB. Worthy battle cry – Get Off Your Butt and do something, fight for something!
That is great! Congratulations on that. This is similar to a conversation you and I had last year or so about how – no matter how distasteful political activity is – we have seen that if such activity is left only to partisan zealots they will not hesitate to try forcing their policies on the rest of us.
