The Chinese government has committed a series of ongoing human rights abuses against Uyghurs and other ethnic and religious minorities in Xinjiang that is often characterized as genocide. Operations from 2016 to 2021 were led by Xinjiang CCP Secretary Chen Quanguo. It is the largest-scale detention of ethnic and religious minorities since World War II. The Chinese government began to wind down the camps in 2019. Amnesty International states that detainees have been increasingly transferred to the formal penal system.

Great posts as always. As I mentioned in a previous post, I don’t take much of an interest in politics. That being said, I find your posts very enjoyable to read. This post brought to mind memorable films about politics I have seen. For instance, it reminded me of the film “Don’t Look Up”. A sharp political satire, it explores what would happen when a doomsday is predicted. It captures how the issues of climate change have been neglected by politicians in America. Not a great film, but worth watching if you’re interested in US politics. I believe it was streaming on Netflix.
