Those are staggering sums to have ‘earned’ since leaving office! 😮
Sadly, most of them don’t even wait until they are out of office, they just magically become millionaires WHILE IN OFFICE pretending to make nothing but government salaries, like Nancy Pelosi and her husband with insider trading, plus other graft like all the “government contracts” that her husband’s company just happened to get awarded while she was in office all those years. Mitch McConnell is the Republican version of Pelosi. I’ve previously listed many other instances, like Liz Cheney and so many others. This is why I always refer to “the cesspool of corruption that masquerades as our government.” It’s not hyperbole. There are decades of evidence, but eventually, people just stopped caring. I guess because of feeling like there’s nothing they can do to stop it. And in recent years we’ve seen how the career criminals of Washington DC will treat any outsider who tries to reform the system.
Crazy!! 😮🙄 There seems a real danger that this state of affairs becomes regarded as ‘normal’ and if the curtain of apathy descends that much then I shudder to think how far that normal envelope will eventually get pushed until people start screaming foul!
Well, I’m not trying to be argumentative, but it became obvious long ago that America already HAS passed that point and become a Banana Republic where corruption IS the norm. I haven’t been exaggerating in the least all these years when I’ve been saying the Democrats and Republicans are two rival gangs of white-collar criminals. Our political parties conduct themselves like criminal enterprises. Just bought and paid for whores.
I fear that we are heading in the same direction over here where interchangeable personalities seem to focus on the people to a directly obverse degree to their helpful rhetoric. My goodness, we have had recent Prime Ministers and Presidents mired in kick-back scandals and still the status quo groans onwards!
I understand and I agree that the corruption seems to be rubbing off on other countries
