NCAA DIVISION THREE
ROUND TWO: IC VS SC – The SWARTHMORE COLLEGE GARNET took the court against the ITHACA COLLEGE BOMBERS. The 1st Half ended with the score knotted up at 44-44 but after the break the Garnet outscored the Bombers 42-34 for an 86-78 victory. Vinny DeAngelo led Swarthmore College with 21 points.
ROUND TWO: EU VS PPC – The POMONA-PITZER COLLEGE SAGEHENS battled the EMORY UNIVERSITY EAGLES in a game that was for the birds. The Sagehens were chasing the Eagles 34-29 at the Half but regrouped in the locker room to manage a 71-70 come-from-behind win. Micah Elan’s 20 points led Pomona-Pitzer College.
ROUND TWO: SJU VS UWEC – In this game the SAINT JOHN’S UNIVERSITY JOHNNIES faced the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT EAU CLAIRE BLUGOLDS. The Blugolds were on top 37-35 at Halftime only to see the Johnnies come roaring from behind for a 78-69 triumph. Twenty-one points from Zach Hanson led the way for Saint John’s University.
ROUND TWO: NC VS CNU – The CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT UNIVERSITY CAPTAINS squared off against the NICHOLS COLLEGE BISON here. By the break the Captains were out in front 50-41 following which each team notched 41 points in the 2nd Half. Christopher Newport University won the game 91-82 led by Ian Anderson’s Double-Double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.
ROUND TWO: UST VS UWP – This game pitted the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT THOMAS TOMMIES against the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT PLATTEVILLE PIONEERS. A 35-32 Halftime edge for the Tommies ultimately turned into a 73-70 victory. The leading scorer for the University of Saint Thomas was Anders Nelson with 22 points.
ROUND TWO: PSUH VS YU – The YESHIVA UNIVERSITY MACCABEES played the PENN STATE AT HARRISBURG LIONS. The Maccabees parlayed a fairly tight 44-38 advantage over the Lions at the Half into a comfortable Century Club-level 102-83 win. Ryan Turell tossed in THIRTY points to lead Yeshiva University.
ROUND TWO: TU VS RPI – The TUFTS UNIVERSITY JUMBOS clashed with the RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE ENGINEERS. By the midpoint of the game the Jumbos had grabbed a 38-28 lead over the Engineers. From there Tufts University kept RPI at arm’s length to win the contest by a final score of 75-66.
