The college basketball postseason rolls along:


Vermont Tech Green KnightsDAY ONE: GAME ONE – The 6 seeds – the VERMONT TECH GREEN KNIGHTS – took the court against the 3rd seeded UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI AT CLERMONT COUGARS. This shootout found the Green Knights on top of the favored Cougars 50-39 by Halftime. From there Vermont Tech held off their opponents for a Century Club-level 108-100 Upset win. Drake Perry’s THIRTY points led the Green Knights.  

NHTIDAY ONE: GAME TWO – In this game the 4th seeded NEW HAMPSHIRE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE LYNX faced the 5 seeds – the PENN STATE AT MONT ALTO LIONS. In businesslike fashion the Lynx led 32-27 at the Half on their way to a 76-70 victory over the Lions. Shaquille Barrett led the way for New Hampshire Tech with 18 points.  

Southern Maine College SeaWolvesDAY ONE: GAME THREE – The 8 seeds – the SOUTHERN MAINE COLLEGE SEAWOLVES – tangled with the 9th seeded PENN STATE AT WILKES-BARRE LIONS. This Instant Classic saw the Seawolves holding a mere 37-36 edge at the break before eking out a tiny bit more separation from there to win out 70-68. Twenty-five points from Anthony Lobor led Southern Maine College.


Ozark Christian College Ambassadors new logoFIRST SEMIFINAL – The 6th seeded OZARK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE AMBASSADORS played the 2 seeds – the ARLINGTON BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PATRIOTS – in this semifinal. The Ambassadors put the storied Patriots on Upset Alert with their 39-27 Halftime advantage, then consummated the deal with a 73-56 triumph. Parker Sutton tossed in 17 points to lead Ozark Christian College. 

ULA College of Divinity CubsSECOND SEMIFINAL – The 4 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF LOS ANGELES COLLEGE OF DIVINITY BEARS – kept the Upset mojo rolling against the top seeded CHAMPION CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TIGERS. The Tigers actually led 41-37 at the Half before the Bears came from behind to win the game 84-76. ULACD was led by Troy Biglow’s Double-Double of THIRTY points and 15 rebounds.

sullivancountygeneralsEAST DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams left standing in this District Tournament were the SULLIVAN COUNTY COLLEGE GENERALS and the ESSEX COUNTY COLLEGE WOLVERINES. The Generals were chasing the Wolverines 39-36 at Halftime but then overtook them for a 76-70 victory. Jordan Drain led Sullivan County College with a Double-Double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. * THE GENERALS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE EAST DISTRICT TOURNAMANT *

Howard College DragonsMID-ATLANTIC DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 2 seeds – the HOWARD (MD) COLLEGE DRAGONS – clashed with the 4th seeded CCBC-DUNDALK LIONS. The Dragons had the Lions on the run 49-36 at the Half, then finished them off by a Century Club-level final score of 104-85. Howard was led by Michael Gray with 25 points. * THE DRAGONS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE MID-ATLANTIC DISTRICT TOURNAMENT *

Kansas City KS Blue DevilsPLAINS DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the top seeded KANSAS CITY (KS) COLLEGE BLUE DEVILS against the 2 seeds – the JOHNSON COUNTY COLLEGE CAVALIERS. The Cavaliers led 39-36 by the break, following which the Blue Devils came storming from behind for a 75-68 triumph. Calvin Slaughter led the way for Kansas City with his 25 points. * THE BLUE DEVILS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE PLAINS DISTRICT TOURNAMENT *
