NJCAA DIVISION ONE
EAST CENTRAL DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The storied WALTERS STATE SENATORS faced the GORDON STATE HIGHLANDERS in this District’s title tilt. A 2-1 Highlanders edge in the 1st Inning became a 2-2 tie in the 2nd.
The Senators added additional Runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th Innings on their way to a 5-2 triumph. Walters State Pitcher Blake Petty threw for the win. * THE SENATORS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE EAST CENTRAL DISTRICT *
WESTERN DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this matchup the CENTRAL ARIZONA COLLEGE VAQUEROS did battle with the COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN NEVADA COYOTES. In the 1st Inning the Vaqueros shot out to a 7-0 lead.
By the 4th Inning Central Arizona College extended that to an unbelievable 16-2 advantage. The Coyotes’ attempted rally fell far short as the Vaqueros won it 16-7 for Pitcher Avery Jones. * THE VAQUEROS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE WESTERN DISTRICT *
NJCAA DIVISION TWO
EAST DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The MONROE (Rochester) COLLEGE TRIBUNES took the diamond against the ULSTER COUNTY COLLEGE SENATORS. Neither team scored in the first 3 Innings of this Pitcher’s Duel.
In the 4th Inning the Tribunes went up 1-0 then made it a 2-0 game in the 7th. Four more Runs in the top of the 9th Inning let Monroe at Rochester advance to the World Series with a 6-0 shutout. Matt Petrossi got the Win. * THE TRIBUNES ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE EAST DISTRICT *
MIDWEST DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Fighting it out for this District’s crown were the LINCOLN LAND COLLEGE LOGGERS and the PARKLAND COLLEGE COBRAS. The Loggers grabbed a quick 1-0 edge but by the 4th Inning the Cobras led 2-1.
Lincoln Land College was still chasing Parkland College 5-4 in the 7th Inning but in the 8th the Loggers’ came from behind for a 9-5 advantage. That turned out to be the final score, too, with Beau Atkins pitching for the Win. * THE LOGGERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE MIDWEST DISTRICT *
SOUTHEAST DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this District the last teams standing were the PASCO-HERNANDO STATE CONQUISTADORS and the BRUNSWICK COLLEGE DOLPHINS. The first 5 Innings of this game were scoreless.
The Conquistadors went on top of the Dolphins 3-1 in the 6th Inning. Pasco-Hernando State then shut out Brunswick College the rest of the way while adding 1 Run in the 7th Inning and 2 in the 9th to win it 6-1. Pitcher Kyle Khachadourian was on the Mound for 9 Iron Man Innings for the victors. * THE CONQUISTADORS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE SOUTHEAST DISTRICT *
PLAINS DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This game pitted the NORTHERN OKLAHOMA COLLEGE AT ENID JETS against the REDLANDS COLLEGE COUGARS. Neither team scored until the Jets went up 3-0 in the 4th Inning.
The Cougars’ bats got red-hot as they grabbed an 8-3 lead by the 6th Inning and the 7th Inning ended with Redlands College on top 11-8. In the bottom of the 9th the Jets won the game 12-11 for Pitcher Jarrett Sweeney. * THE JETS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE PLAINS DISTRICT *
NJCAA DIVISION THREE
DISTRICT A: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The HERKIMER COLLEGE GENERALS faced the FINGER LAKES COLLEGE LAKERS for the title. The Lakers led 2-0 in the 1st Inning but in the 3rd the Generals went on top 5-2.
Herkimer College made that a 6-2 advantage in the 4th Inning, 9-2 in the 5th and 10-2 in the 7th. 10-2 also turned out to be the final tally as the Generals won it behind Pitcher Masaki Furudono. * THE GENERALS ARE CHAMPIONS OF DISTRICT A *
DISTRICT G: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The ROWAN COLLEGE AT GLOUCESTER COUNTY ROADRUNNERS went up against the BROOKDALE COLLEGE JERSEY BLUES. After 2 scoreless Innings the Roadrunners managed a 3-0 lead in the 3rd.
A Pitcher’s Duel ensued for the next 4 Innings, ending when Rowan College at Gloucester extended their lead to 7-0. The Jersey Blues avoided a Shutout by driving in a Run in the 9th but fell 7-1. Nick Evangelista was on the Mound for the win. * THE ROADRUNNERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF DISTRICT G *
