ACCA BASKETBALL CHAMPS CROWNED PLUS DAY TWO OF THE USCAA TOURNAMENT

Arlington Baptist PatriotsACCA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 4th seeded Defending National Champions – the ARLINGTON BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PATRIOTS – faced the 6th seeded CHAMPION CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TIGERS in the title game of the ACCA (Association of Christian College Athletics). The Tigers held a 38-36 edge come Halftime but after the break the Patriots demonstrated the old “heart of a champion” and came back to win this 75-73 Instant Classic. * THE PATRIOTS ARE ACCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS *

USCAA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Central_Pennsylvania_UniversityDAY TWO, GAME ONE – Starting Day Two in the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association) was this clash between the 8th seeded CENTRAL PENN COLLEGE SILVER KNIGHTS and the 6 seeds – the NEW HAMPSHIRE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE LYNX. The Silver Knights had the Lynx on Upset Alert with a 42-31 lead at the break, then kept NHTI at arm’s length in the 2nd Half for an 82-70 victory. Tyreke Woodard led Central Penn College with 28 points.

Southern Maine College SeawolvesDAY TWO, GAME TWO – The 4 seeds – the SOUTHERN MAINE COLLEGE SEA WOLVES – took on the 7th seeded PENN STATE AT MONT ALTO LIONS. The Sea Wolves made the Lions their prison brides with a FIFTY-TWO to TWENTY-SIX lead at the break. From there Southern Maine College coasted to a 93-76 triumph led by 18 points from Ryan Cloutier.

Vermont Tech Green KnightsDAY TWO, GAME THREE – The 10th seeded VERMONT TECH GREEN KNIGHTS continue to be THE story of the Tournament so far and wracked up another Upset, this time over the 2 seeds – the VILLA MARIA COLLEGE VIKINGS. A 33-33 tie at the midpoint ultimately became a 70-66 win for the Green Knights. Jeremiah Shaw put up 20 points to lead Vermont Tech.

Penn State at YorkDAY TWO, GAME FOUR – The 9 seeds – the PENN STATE AT YORK LIONS – are right behind Vermont Tech in Upsets as they surprised the top seeded Defending National Champion BERKELEY (NY) COLLEGE KNIGHTS (should be the Gotham Knights). The Lions set the stage to dethrone the champs with a 36-33 Halftime edge, then carried through with a 69-67 victory. Derrick Hoffman’s 14 points led PSUY.

BIBLE COLLEGE NIT

Davis College FalconsFIRST SEMIFINAL – The top seeded DAVIS COLLEGE FALCONS squared off against the 4 seeds – the BLUE LIGHTS COLLEGE THOROUGHBREDS. The Falcons were on top 38-24 at the break but the Thoroughbreds stormed back for a 67-65 lead with 5:45 left to play. From there several lead changes ended with Davis College winning it 80-76. Richard Campbell led the scoring with 21 points.

Trinity Baptist College Eagles BIGSECOND SEMIFINAL – In this game the 2 seeds – the TRINITY BAPTIST COLLEGE EAGLES – played the 3rd seeded TRINITY COLLEGE OF FLORIDA TIGERS. The Eagles were hammering the Tigers on both sides of the ball to the tune of 37-20 come Halftime. In the 2nd Half Trinity Baptist kept Trinity College at arm’s length for a 74-63 victory led by Chandler Rivers’ 25 points.
