CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 4 seeds – the LEWIS-CLARK STATE WARRIORS – faced the top seeded FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES for the NAIA title in college baseball. Runs piled up til it seemed like a Polo Match score as the Warriors and Eagles were tied at 2-2 in the 2nd Inning and 3-3 in the 4th. Faulkner U went on top 7-6 in the 5th Inning but Lewis-Clark State overtook them for a 12-7 advantage in the 6th.
That became just a 12-8 Warriors lead in the 7th Inning and that’s where things stood until the bottom of the 9th when the Eagles pulled to within 12-11 before falling. Pitcher Quin Grogan notched the Win as LCSC picked up its 18th baseball crown. * THE WARRIORS ARE THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS OF NAIA BASEBALL *

CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: GAME ONE – The two teams battling it out for the championship in this Division are the NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY SHARKS and the MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY MARAUDERS. After two scoreless Innings the Marauders managed a 1-0 edge in the 3rd only to have the Sharks tie the score at 1-1 in the 4th. That became a 2-1 lead for Nova Southeastern University in the 6th Inning and that 2-1 margin wound up being the final score as well! Alex Mateo pitched for the Win in Game One of this best of three series.

DAY SEVEN – The SAN JACINTO COLLEGE-NORTH GATORS squared off against the CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COLLEGE PIRATES for the right to face Yavapai College in the Championship Game. By the 2nd Inning the Gators were leading the Pirates 3-0. The 5th Inning ended with San Jacinto College-North holding a 4-1 advantage but in the 6th the Gators drove in 4 additional runs, then rode them the rest of the way for an 8-1 victory. Devin Smeltzer was on the Mound for 9 Iron Man Innings for San Jacinto.

DAY SEVEN: GAME ONE – The SINCLAIR COLLEGE TARTAN PRIDE found themselves taking on the MERCER COUNTY COLLEGE VIKINGS in this game. It was all Tartan Pride from early on as Sinclair College seized a commanding 8-0 lead over the Vikings in the 2nd Inning. After that the Tartan Pride proceeded to embarrass Mercer County College by a final tally of ELEVEN to ONE! The winning Pitcher for Sinclair College was Ryan Falls.
DAY SEVEN: GAME TWO – The JONES COLLEGE BOBCATS went to bat against the GATEWAY COLLEGE GECKOS to close out the day. The Geckos held a 2-1 advantage over the Bobcats in the 1st Inning but by the 3rd it was Jones College 3 Gateway College 2. The Bobcats’ bats got very hot at that point and propelled their team to a comfortable 11-3 win. Mason Strickland was on the Mound for the victors.
