SAVANNAH BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – This Bracket’s 5 seeds – the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS – have been THE story of the playoffs so far. Against all odds they made it to the third day of play with no losses. The top seeded CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS had suffered a loss on Day One, therefore one more loss would eliminate them. The Skyhawks got annihilated by the Tigers in the early game TEN to NOTHING. In the rubber game Point University notched a 2-1 win for Pitcher Dylan Griffin. * THE SKYHAWKS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE SAVANNAH BRACKET *
JAMESTOWN BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – The two teams left fighting for the title in this Bracket were the top seeds – the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS – and the 2nd seeded MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS. The Warriors led the Spartans 1-0 in the 1st Inning, 4-0 in the 3rd and 5-2 in the 4th. After that Sterling College’s bats got red-hot and the rout was on. The Warriors went on to win the game FOURTEEN to FOUR. Pitcher Jose Rendon picked up the W. * THE WARRIORS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE JAMESTOWN BRACKET *
LAWRENCEVILLE BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – The 3rd seeded LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS went toe-to-toe with the top seeded GEORGIA GWINNETT COLLEGE GRIZZLIES in this game. The previous day the Blue Raiders defeated the Grizzlies 9-3, forcing a final game yesterday. Lindsey Wilson College won that Instant Classic of an Elimination Game by a final score of 4-3. * THE BLUE RAIDERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE LAWRENCEVILLE BRACKET *
KINGSPORT BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – It was a real battle of cats and dogs here as the top seeded TENNESSEE WESLEYAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS clashed with the 3 seeds – the SAINT THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS. After 2 scoreless Innings the teams ended the 3rd tied up at 1-1. Neither team scored again until the 6th Inning, when the Bulldogs began piling up the runs. Tennessee Wesleyan College topped the Bobcats 6-1 through the pitching of Danny Guido.
GRAND RAPIDS BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – Oddly enough, this was another of the 1 seed vs 3 seed battles for a Bracket title yesterday. The top seeded BELLEVUE UNIVERSITY BRUINS went to bat against the 3rd seeded DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY PANTHERS in this one. The Panthers were never really in this game as the Bruins went up 1-0 in the 1st Inning and 3-0 in the 2nd on their way to a 7-2 victory. The winner on the Mound was Todd Nicks, who went an astounding ELEVEN and ONE this year. * THE BRUINS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE GRAND RAPIDS BRACKET *
FAULKNER BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – The top two seeds in this Bracket faced each other for the championship. The top seeded FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Furies) took on the 2nd seeded VANGUARD UNIVERSITY LIONS. After a scoreless 1st Inning the Eagles grabbed a 1-0 edge in the 2nd. The Lions went on top 3-1 in the 4th Inning but Faulkner University retook the lead in the 5th by a count of 4-3. The Eagles added an insurance run in the 8th for a 5-3 triumph. * THE EAGLES ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE FAULKNER BRACKET *
