NCCAA WORLD SERIES CONTINUES AS DOES THE NJCAA POSTSEASON

* NCCAA WORLD SERIES *

Lee FlamesPRASCO PARK – EARLY GAMES – Yesterday was Day Three of the College World Series for the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association). The 3rd seeded LEE UNIVERSITY FLAMES upset the 2nd seeded TREVECCA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TROJANS by a score of 4-1. In Series play the Flames are now 2-1, the Trojans 2-2.   ###   The 7th seeded CEDARVILLE UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS improved to 3-0 in Series play, clobbering the now 0-3 10 seeds – the LANCASTER BIBLE COLLEGE CHARGERS – in a 10-1 annihilation.  

fresno pacific sunbirdsLEGACY FIELD – EARLY GAMES – Meanwhile over at Legacy Field the 4th seeded FRESNO PACIFIC UNIVERSITY SUNBIRDS likewise moved to 3-0 with a dominant 4-0 shutout of the top seeded OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES, who fall to 1-2-1.   ###   And in Legacy Field’s other early game the 8th seeded TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS came up short once again in a game for the ages, losing to the 9th seeded SHORTER UNIVERSITY HAWKS  6-4. The Trolls are 0-3, the Hawks are 1-1-1. 

shorter hawksPRASCO PARK – LATE GAMES – Those 9th seeded SHORTER UNIVERSITY HAWKS kept their momentum going by decimating the 5th seeded BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS  10-1. This win made the Hawks 2-1-1 and the Rambling Rams 2-2.   ###   Also at Prasco Park the 4 seeds – the FRESNO PACIFIC UNIVERSITY SUNBIRDS – stayed perfect at 4-0 by shutting out the 8th seeded TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS, rendering them 0-4 for the Series.  

Toccoa Falls CollegeLEGACY FIELD – LATE GAMES – The 6th seeded TOCCOA FALLS COLLEGE EAGLES went 2-2 by folding, spindling and mutilating  the now 0-4 LANCASTER BIBLE COLLEGE CHARGERS by a blowout score of SIXTEEN to TWO!   ###   And the 3rd seeded LEE UNIVERSITY FLAMES wound up 3-1 just like their opponents the 7th seeded CEDARVILLE UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS. The Flames tripled up on the Yellow Jackets 9-3.  

DAY FOUR’S NCCAA SEMIFINALS WILL PIT THE (4) Sunbirds (Pool A Winners) against the (7) Yellow Jackets (Pool B Runners-Up) while the (3) Flames (Pool B Winners) do battle with the (9) Hawks (Pool A Runners-Up). At 5pm the two winners will face each other for the 2014 NCCAA World Series title.

* NJCAA PLAYOFFS *   

Saint Cloud Tech CyclonesDISTRICT 3-E – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 4th seeded SAINT CLOUD TECH CYCLONES won this district’s title with their 6-3 upset defeat of the top seeded CENTURY COLLEGE WOOD DUCKS. The Wood Ducks had been the 2013 runners- up in NJCAA3 baseball. Other teams being left behind from this district included the Rainy River College Voyageurs, the Northland Tech Pioneers, the Riverland College Blue Devils and the Itasca Vikings.    

eastfield-harvesters1DISTRICT 3-C – Opening Games – The Region 5 Champions – the EASTFIELD COLLEGE HARVESTERS – won a nailbiting 6-5 epic against the play-in winners – the NORTH LAKE COLLEGE BLAZERS.     ###      And in the other opening game the Region 14 Champions – the TYLER COLLEGE APACHES – faced the Region 2 Champions – the NORTH ARKANSAS COLLEGE PIONEERS – and thrashed them by a score of 8-2.  

Waubonsee College ChiefsDISTRICT 3-B – Opening Game – The WAUBONSEE COLLEGE CHIEFS started off trailing the JOLIET COLLEGE WOLVES 1-0 after 2 Innings of play. The Chiefs tied the game up at 1 apiece in the top of the 5th Inning and that remained the score through the end of regulation. In the top of the FOURTEENTH INNING Waubonsee scored 2 more runs to win this marathon battle 3-1.  

Vincennes University TrailblazersNORTH (2) DISTRICT – The VINCENNES UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZERS won a 4-3 Armageddon of the diamond against the KELLOGG COLLEGE BRUINS   ###   The MUSKEGON COLLEGE JAYHAWKS were eliminated by the GRAND RAPIDS RAIDERS in a tight 3-2 battle   ###   It took TEN Innings but at length the SINCLAIR COLLEGE TARTAN PRIDE defeated the JACKSON COLLEGE JETS  4-3   ###   Meanwhile the MOTT COLLEGE BEARS eliminated the DELTA COLLEGE PIONEERS by a score of 5-2   ###   Grand Rapids then eliminated Jackson College  4-2   ###   And Kellogg College eliminated Mott in a 7-2 outcome.

Madison College WolfpackNORTH CENTRAL (2) DISTRICT – DAY ONE – The MADISON COLLEGE WOLFPACK put up 2 runs in the 5th Inning while shutting out their opponents – the PRAIRIE STATE COLLEGE PIONEERS. 2-0 was the final score.   ###  And the KANKAKEE COLLEGE CAVALIERS led the BLACK HAWK COLLEGE BRAVES 1-0 after the 1st Inning then 2-1 after the 3rd. In the top of the 6th the Braves tied it up at 2-2 but in the bottom of that Inning the Cavaliers scored 2 more runs, then rode those to a 5-3 final score.
