In the end the Cougars went back home with a 127-120 victory ### Also in Double Overtime the MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS defeated the visiting HASKELL INDIAN NATIONS UNIVERSITY INDIANS by a score of 112-105.
THE BAHAMA HOUSE SHOOTOUT – The BETHANY COLLEGE SWEDES took on the TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS in the semifinals of this tournament yesterday. The Swedes put up 92 points to the 82 scored by the Trojans ### And in the other semifinal the top-ranked host school, the EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY EAGLES came out on top in an 82-60 affair against the CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TIGERS.
CENTURY CLUB – NAIA DIVISION ONE – The TALLADEGA COLLEGE TORNADOES were very ungracious hosts to the DILLARD UNIVERSITY BLEU (sic) DEVILS, mangling them to the tune of 123-76 ### Meanwhile the COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS BOBCATS notched a 101-91 victory over the MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS ### And the LU-BELLEVILLE LYNX entered the Century Club with their 100-91 win over the INDIANA UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST REDHAWKS.
CENTURY CLUB – NAIA DIVISION TWO – The INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS, the 2013 runners-up in NAIA2 basketball, kicked around the visiting POINT PARK UNIVERSITY PIONEERS by a score of 110-95 ### The BETHEL (IN) COLLEGE PILOTS (riverboat pilots) took it on the road and won a 110-69 rout of the GRACE COLLEGE LANCERS ### The OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS outscored the SILVER LAKE COLLEGE LAKERS 101-76 ### The FRIENDS FALCONS won a 100-92 clash with the YORK (NE) PANTHERS ### And the KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES fell in their own tournament to the DOANE TIGERS 103-90.
CENTURY CLUB – NCAA DIVISION THREE – The SAGE COLLEGE GATORS put up 100 points to the 78 scored by the ST JOSEPH’S (LONG ISLAND) GOLDEN EAGLES ### The PITT-BRADFORD PANTHERS took down the D’YOUVILLE SPARTANS by that same 100-78 score ### And the DANIEL WEBSTER COLLEGE EAGLES won a 103-96 game with the NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE PILGRIMS.
WORKING OVERTIME – NAIA DIVISION ONE – The TEXAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY RAMS toppled the heavily favored JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES in Overtime by a final score of 99-91 ### Meanwhile the UNIVERSITY OF MOBILE RAMS kept the Ram momentum going with their tight 69-68 OT victory over the TOUGALOO COLLEGE BULLDOGS ### And the MONTANA STATE- NORTHERN LIGHTS used the extra session to notch a 71-69 road win against the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS.
WORKING OVERTIME – NAIA DIVISION TWO – The SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE battled the WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS through regulation and one Overtime period, at last emerging with a 77-73 triumph ### And the BRYAN COLLEGE LIONS took down the homestanding MONTREAT COLLEGE CAVALIERS 82-79 in OT.
WORKING OVERTIME – NCAA DIVISION THREE – The CONCORDIA (TX) TORNADOS (their spelling) were on the road against the EAST TEXAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY TIGERS and, after regulation failed to determine a winner, went on to notch a “W” in Overtime by a score of 88-78 ### And the WHEATON THUNDER defeated the MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY BIG BLUE in the extra session in a 92-84 outcome.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – In a defensive grudge match for the ages the COLUMBIA (MO) COUGARS took down the visiting LYON COLLEGE SCOTS 57-52 ### Meanwhile the UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE RED STORM beat the GEORGETOWN (KY) TIGERS in their own house by a score of 79-72 ### And the WILLIAM WOODS UNIVERSITY OWLS logged an 81-73 road win over the PARK UNIVERSITY PIRATES.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS II: THE SEQUEL – The HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY FORESTERS traveled to face the TAYLOR TROJANS and eked out a 72-70 victory ### The VIRGINIA INTERMONT COLLEGE COBRAS hosted the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS and won an 83-77 nailbiter ### And the ALICE LLOYD COLLEGE EAGLES defeated the CINCINATTI CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES by a final score of 75-70.

NUMBER ONE TAKES A HARD FALL – The unranked HOBART STATESMEN skated onto the ice of the top-ranked team in the nation, the PLATTSBURGH STATE UNIVERSITY CARDINALS, and went home boasting a 3-1 victory over them ### And the number 2 ADRIAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS had a close call on the road against the BUFFALO STATE UNIVERSITY BENGALS, but held on in the end to win a 4-3 epic.
OVERTIME ON ICE – The UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND NOR’EASTERS and the MORRISVILLE STATE MUSTANGS ended regulation knotted up at 4 goals each. In Overtime the Nor’Easters slammed in another goal for a 5-4 victory ### The SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE UNIVERSITY PENMEN were on the road against the TUFTS JUMBOS and likewise ended up with a 4-4 score until the Penmen inked a winning 5th goal in the Overtime Period ### And the 13th ranked OSWEGO STATE LAKERS managed a moral victory of sorts with a 2-2 tie over the visiting number 8 UTICA PIONEERS.
A GREAT DAY FOR WILLIAMS HOCKEY – The 5th ranked WILLIAMS COLLEGE EPHS (“eephs”) needed Overtime but notched a hard-fought 4-3 victory over their guests, the HAMILTON COLLEGE CONTINENTALS ### And to complete a perfect day for Ephs fans their archrivals the (11) AMHERST COLLEGE LORD JEFFS went down to defeat. The number 6 NORWICH UNIVERSITY CADETS did the honors, downing the Lord Jeffs in a 5-1 smackdown.
FROZEN CLASSICS – The SKIDMORE COLLEGE THOROUGHBREDS eked out a 7-6 victory over the visiting SALVE REGINA SEAHAWKS in an absolute explosion of offense from both teams ### Meanwhile the FRANKLIN PIERCE COLLEGE RAVENS traveled to bring down the ASSUMPTION GREYHOUNDS in a 3-2 edge-of-your-seat affair ### And the NICHOLS COLLEGE BISON defeated the homestanding CASTLETON STATE SPARTANS in another 3-2 thriller.
BUTTKICKINGS HURT EVEN MORE WHEN YOU’RE WEARING ICE SKATES – The UMASS-BOSTON BEACONS welcomed the SUFFOLK UNIVERSITY RAMS and proceeded to fold, spindle and mutilate them to the tune of 10-1 ### The TRINITY (CT) BANTAMS likewise won a 10-1 laugher against the visiting WESTERN NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE GOLDEN BEARS ### And the SAINT MICHAEL’S PURPLE KNIGHTS doubled up on the homestanding SOUTHERN MAINE HUSKIES by a score of 6-3.
… AND COOL TEAM NAMES ARE EVEN COOLER ON ICE – The CONNECTICUT COLLEGE CAMELS and the SUNY-CANTON KANGAROOS are both a breath of fresh air in a college sports landscape littered with way too many teams with boring names like Eagles, Tigers, Bulldogs and Wildcats. These two teams squared off against each other on the Camels’ home ice in a game that saw CC masterfully tie the Kangaroos down by a final score of 5-2.
