Day One of the 2013 College World Series for the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) started off with history being made. The 9th seeded MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS, playing in their FIRST EVER World Series game, upset the 8 seeds, the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS, in a dominant 8-3 performance! ### The 5th seeded MASTER’S MUSTANGS upset the 4th seeded NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY (TX) KNIGHTS in a 4-3 Instant Classic. ### The 3rd seeded EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY EAGLES smacked around the (6) YORK (NE) PANTHERS by a score of 8-3. ### And the 7th seeded LEWIS-CLARK STATE WARRIORS clobbered the 10 seeeds, the ROGERS STATE UNIVERSITY HILLCATS, 6-1. The top two seeds, the LEE UNIVERSITY FLAMES and the FAULKNER EAGLES, don’t play their first games until Day Two.

On Day One for the D3 World Series the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STEVENS POINT POINTERS were trailing the MANCHESTER UNIVERSITY SPARTANS by a score of 5-0 in the bottom of the 8th inning. The Pointers’ bats at last came alive, putting up 3 runs there and 2 more in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game up. In the 10th inning the Pointers scored the go-ahead run for a 6-5 victory. ### The MILLSAPS COLLEGE MAJORS got on the scoreboard first with a run in the 3rd inning but ultimately lost to the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MAINE HUSKIES in a 2-1 nailbiter. ### The LINFIELD COLLEGE WILDCATS compiled a commanding 7-0 lead by the 6th inning but then had to withstand a late rally by the ITHACA BOMBERS to emerge with an 8-6 win. ### And the WEBSTER UNIVERSITY GORLOKS led the KEAN UNIVERSITY COUGARS 3-2 going in to the 5th inning, only to see the Cougars begin a scoring orgy, routing them by a final score of 14-8.
