NCAA D-3 FINAL FOUR SET, PLUS HBCU SEMIFINALS

NCAA DIVISION THREE

FINAL FOUR: FIRST BERTH – The CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT UNIVERSITY CAPTAINS played the UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS (TX) CELTS. The defenses ruled at first and come Halftime the score was knotted up at a mere 22-22. After the break, CNU managed enough separation to upset the Celts by a score of 63-59. Toa Hollenbeck led the Captains with his 25 points.

FINAL FOUR: SECOND BERTH – Up next, the TRINITY (CT) COLLEGE BANTAMS did battle with the TUFTS UNIVERSITY JUMBOS. The Bantams held a tight 29-27 edge at the Half. From there competition remained intense but Trinity College downed the Jumbos 69-66. Sixteen points from Henry Vetter led the way for the Bantams.    Continue reading

NAIA & CCCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS, AND NCAA DIV THREE TOURNAMENT

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in the NAIA were the FREED-HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY LIONS and the LANGSTON UNIVERSITY LIONS (should be Hugheses). By Halftime Freed-Hardeman University was on top 33-30, and after the break they squeezed out a tiny bit more separation from Langston U. FHU triumphed 76-71 led by 20 points from Orlando Thomas.

NCAA DIVISION THREE

ELITE EIGHT: FIRST BERTH – The UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO MAROONS clashed with the GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS COLLEGE GUSTIES. Gustavus Adolphus had the Maroons a bit wary with their 40-39 edge at the Half. From there, the University of Chicago snuck by the Gusties for a 93-92 victory. Twenty-one points from Shane Regan led the Maroons. Continue reading

NAIA FINAL FOUR SET, CCCAA FINAL FOUR PLAY

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS

FINAL FOUR: FIRST BERTH – The FREED-HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY LIONS faced the ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM. The teams went almost basket for basket in the opening Half, with the Firestorm on top 36-34 going into the locker room. From there the play was just as tight, but the Lions eked out a 79-78 victory. Rico Sain put up 21 points to lead Freed-Hardeman. Continue reading

NAIA ELITE EIGHT SET AND NCCAA DIV 1 CHAMPS CROWNED

NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DIVISION ONE

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt was fought between the 3 seeds – the LANCASTER BIBLE COLLEGE CHARGERS – and the 4th seeded COLUMBIA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY RAMS. By Halftime the Chargers were on top 37-27. After the break, LBC kept the Rams at arm’s length as they won their first ever National Championship 82-75. Camden Hurst tossed in 27 points to lead the Chargers. 

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS

ELITE EIGHT: FIRST BERTH – The AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES faced the LOUISIANA STATE AT SHREVEPORT PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots). The Gyrenes put LSU-Shreveport on Upset Alert at the Half with their 46-38 advantage. The Pilots cut into the AMU lead from there, but still lost to them by a Century Club score of 102-98. The Gyrenes were led by Michael Klekas with a Double Double of 26 points and 11 rebounds. His teammates Jack Watkins and Alex Sherwood got Double Doubles of their own with 21 points & 11 rebounds, and 14 points & 10 rebounds, respectively.  Continue reading

NCCAA FINAL FOUR SET AND MORE

NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DIVISION ONE

FINAL FOUR: BERTH ONE – The 3 seeds – the LANCASTER BIBLE COLLEGE CHARGERS – faced the 6th seeded CLINTON COLLEGE GOLDEN BEARS. By Halftime the Chargers had compiled a 48-40 advantage. After the break, the Golden Bears rallied furiously but fell just short as Lancaster Bible College prevailed 89-87. Trey Grube’s 18 points led the Chargers, while teammate Connor Storr logged a Double Double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Continue reading

NAIA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT AND NCCAA D2 CHAMPIONSHIP

NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DIVISION TWO

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the 5th seeded NORTH CENTRAL UNIVERSITY RAMS against the 6 seeds – the CROWN COLLEGE POLARS. The Rams went on top early and led 40-25 by Halftime. After the break, they got even more separation from the Polars, ultimately winning the game 76-51. Carmello McNeal led North Central U. with 23 points.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS

ROUND TWO: GAME ONE – The AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES did battle with the FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS. A shootout was in store with Friends University on top 64-59 at the Half. From there, the Gyrenes made their move, overtaking the Falcons and winning the game by a Century Club score of 108-102. Jaylen White and Jack Watkins led Ave Maria with 21 points each.  Continue reading

NCCAA AND USCAA NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS CONTINUE

UNITED STATES COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DIVISION TWO

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 1 seeds – the PENN STATE AT YORK LIONS – battled the Cinderella 6th seeded MIAMI UNIVERSITY AT HAMILTON HARRIERS. This game was a defensive epic, with the Lions on top at Halftime by a mere 25-19. After the break, PSU-York kept the Harriers at arm’s length to win the title 56-48. James Barlow led the Lions with a Double Double of 15 points and 21 rebounds.

NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DIVISION TWO

FIRST QUARTERFINAL – The 6th seeded CROWN COLLEGE POLARS took the court against the 3 seeds – the MANHATTAN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE THUNDER. The Thunder seemed to be in control at the Half with their 36-28 lead, but from there Crown College roared back. The Polars proceeded to upset MCC by a final score of 71-64. Leading Crown College was Anthony Knight, who tossed in 26 points. Continue reading

USCAA CHAMPS CROWNED PLUS NCCAA BASKETBALL POSTSEASON RESULTS

USCAA DIVISION ONE

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 4th seeded NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STALLIONS fought it out with the 3 seeds – the BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE (Syracuse) BOBCATS – for the USCAA Division One title. At Halftime the Stallions clung to a 36-34 edge but after the break they made their move. NAU took the crown with an 89-74 triumph led by Jamarric Hammond’s Double Double of 21 points and 11 rebounds.

USCAA DIVISION TWO

FIRST SEMIFINAL – The Cinderella 6 seeds – the MIAMI UNIVERSITY AT HAMILTON HARRIERS – kept on dancing in this clash with the 2nd seeded UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI AT CLERMONT COUGARS. UC-Clermont watched their 43-32 advantage at the Half melt away as the Harriers came back to win the game 76-66. Kaleb Wanamaker led MU-Hamilton with a Double Double of THIRTY points and 12 rebounds. 2026 COLLEGE BASKETBALL POSTSEASON CONTINUES

For Divisions One and Two in the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association).

USCAA DIVISION ONE

FIRST SEMIFINAL – The 4th seeded NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STALLIONS played the 1 seeds – the BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE BEARS. The Stallions put Bloomfield College on Upset alert with their 43-41 Halftime edge, then carried through by knocking off the top seeds by a final score of 98-88. North American University was led by Jamarric Hammond with a Double Double of 27 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. (So almost a Triple Double.) 

SECOND SEMIFINAL – And in this game the 3 seeds – the BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE (Syracuse) BOBCATS – took on the 2nd seeded SOUTHEASTERN ILLINOIS COLLEGE FALCONS (should be Blue Falcons). SIC led 43-37 at the Half, only for the Bobcats to force Overtime with an 80-80 tie. In the extra session, BSC-Syracuse triumphed 92-87. Jordan Drain’s 25 points led the victors, while his fellow Bobcats Wayne Longmore and Khai Pugh logged Double Doubles of 15 points & 12 rebounds, and 13 points & 10 rebounds, respectively. BALLADEER’S BLOG: USCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS

As the 2026 college basketball postseason continues, here’s a look at the national tournaments in Divisions One and Two of the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association).

DIVISION ONE

FIRST QUARTERFINAL – The 4 seeds – the NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STALLIONS – took the court against the 5th seeded BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE (Buffalo) BOBCATS. Come Halftime the Stallions held a comfortable 38-21 lead over Bryant & Stratton. After the break, however, North American U. had to hold on by its fingertips to defeat the Bobcats just 65-64. Sixteen points from Jamarric Hammond led the Stallions. Continue reading
