LSU- SHREVEPORT PILOTS – (As in riverboat pilots) MEN – The men are scorching hot right now and are ranked 2nd in the NAIA‘s First Division, right behind the Robert Morris (IL) Eagles in the top spot. The Pilots’ record is 11-0 at the moment and they are appearing in their 13th straight Top 25 Poll. They next see action against Wiley College tonight. WOMEN – The women are struggling at 5-8 right now and have dropped their last three in a row, not counting an exhibition loss to NCAA Division 1’s Northwestern State Demons. The Lady Pilots will next take to the court tonight, likewise against Wiley College and likewise in their home digs, AKA The Dock.(LOVE that name!)

NEW YEAR TRIUMPH FOR THE DIPLOMATS
LANCASTER, Pa. — Franklin & Marshall opened up its 2011 portion of the schedule with a 96-85 victory over Old Westbury in the first round of the 44th Annual Sponaugle New Years Tournament hosted by F&M Sunday evening. The No. 14 Diplomats improved to 8-1 while the Panthers dropped to 2-6.

MARITIME COLLEGE PRIVATEERS – MEN – The men’s team is 5-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play. They are an impressive 3-1 on the road as well. Their next game is Dec 30th against NYU. FLORIDA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE SUNS – MEN – The men’s team started out hot and were 5-2 at one point but have now lost their last four in a row. LMU RAILSPLITTERS MEN’S BASKETBALL UNBEATEN AS WE GO INTO THE HOLIDAY BREAK
HARROGATE, TN – On Tuesday night in the Railsplitter men’s basketball team’s 96-84 victory over conference opponent Catawba College, Lincoln Memorial University forward D’Mario Curry (Detroit, MI) reached a milestone when he scored a personal best 41 points to push his career total over the 1000 point mark and to set a new Turner Arena single-game scoring record.

UNBEATEN GOLD RUSH RISE TO NUMBER 9
NEW ORLEANS — Unbeaten Xavier University of Louisiana moved from 10th to ninth in the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 on Monday.
It’s the highest rank for the XU men since Feb. 13, 2008, when they were eighth. It’s the first time since the 2003-04 season that the Gold Rush made the top 10 in consecutive polls.
