With many schools on Christmas break now Balladeer’s Blog will be taking a look at the overall hoops picture in the divisions I cover. Since I’m all about my readers I’ll be starting with an alphabetical look at the teams I get the most e-mail on, then after that I’ll address the Top 25 in each division. This will be a multi-part extravaganza so you’ll want to check back every day this week for each part.

ALVERNO INFERNO – Alverno is a women’s institution so there IS no men’s team to provide a record on.  The Inferno is 3-6 overall, 2-3 in conference play. The wins came over Bethany Lutheran, Maranatha Baptist and Aurora. The ladies will next see action on December 30th at Marian University.

ASA AVENGERS – MEN – The men’s team is really tearing up the court and currently hold a record of 8-1, including a scoring orgy victory of 106-73 against Roxbury.  They next play Globe on Dec 21st.  WOMEN – The women’s team is an equally impressive 10-4, including a savage beatdown of CC-Philadelphia by an unbelievable score of 93-32. Their next game is likewise on Dec 21st at Globe.

EAU CLAIRE BLUGOLDS – MEN – The men currently have a 5-3 record with one game postponed due to weather. Their next game is December 29th against Monmouth (IL)   WOMEN – The women’s team is sitting at 5-4 with one postponement as well.
