Comment: The Bearcats have won 3 total D2 National Championships in football (my favorite being the multiple-OT epic in 1999), are the reigning D2 champs and have played in the last 5 title games in a row! They even have former players on NFL rosters! Much of the credit for this success goes to the Bearcats’ Head Coach Mel Tjeerdsma (Official Balladeer’s Blog Motto – “Tjeerdsma: It’s not pronounced ANYTHING like it’s spelled!”) but the rest of the credit goes to these incredibly cool helmets! (I’m kidding!) And if you’re wondering, it’s pronounced “CHURCH-ma”.
