APPALACHIAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this conference tournament were the 3 seeds – the JOHNSON UNIVERSITY ROYAL CRUSADERS – and the top seeded UNIVERSITY OF PIKEVILLE BEARS. By Halftime the Royal Crusaders had UPike worried with their 38-30 advantage. From there the Bears rallied but fell just short as Johnson University triumphed 76-75 led by Mason Lockhart and his Double Double of THIRTY-SEVEN POINTS and 12 rebounds.
CALIFORNIA PACIFIC CONFERENCE: ROUND ONE, GAME ONE – The 3rd seeded CAL MARITIME ACADEMY KEELHAULERS took the court against the 6th seeded PACIFIC UNION COLLEGE PIONEERS. This was a tale of two Halves as the Pioneers dominated at first, leading 51-41 at the midpoint. After the break, the Keelhaulers owned the 2nd Half, winning out 87-78. NUMBER FOUR TAKES A FALL – On Senior Night for the SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE they welcomed the number 4 team in the nation – the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES. The Fire put AMU on Upset Alert by Halftime with their 39-29 lead, but the Gyrenes forced Overtime with a 71-71 tie. In the extra session Southeastern U. won 83-80. Anthony Kangah led the victors with 21 points while teammate Nathan Mikkelson got a Double Double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 or more points in Regulation: The ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS COLLEGE POMEROYS beat the visiting INDIANA UNIVERSITY AT COLUMBUS CRIMSON PRIDE 101-70 ### Meanwhile, the UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE (OH) RED STORM downed the KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS 114-79 ### And the GOVERNORS STATE JAGUARS won 107-55 at the JUDSON UNIVERSITY EAGLES.
NUMBER ONE ROLLS – The nation’s top ranked RICHLAND COLLEGE THUNDERDUCKS took it on the road against the DALLAS COLLEGE AT CEDAR VALLEY SUNS. By Halftime the Thunderducks had compiled a 39-24 advantage and after the break maintained distance from the Suns for an 80-65 win. Jase Tarver led Richland College with his Double Double of 24 points and 12 rebounds.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 or more points in Regulation: The (2) SALEM (NJ) COLLEGE MIGHTY OAKS downed the visiting SUSSEX COUNTY COLLEGE SKYLANDERS 104-69 ### Meanwhile, the OWENS COLLEGE EXPRESS won 110-86 at the HOCKING COLLEGE HAWKS ### And the ONONDAGA COLLEGE LAZERS defeated the CAYUGA COLLEGE SPARTANS 102-73.
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER NINE – The 18th ranked CHIPOLA COLLEGE INDIANS welcomed the number 9 team in the nation – the NORTHWEST FLORIDA STATE RAIDERS. Northwest Florida State held a 36-33 edge at Halftime but from there the Indians took over, ultimately winning the game by a final score of 78-69. Braylon Roman led his team with 17 points.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 points or more in Regulation: The KASKASKIA COLLEGE BLUE ANGELS eviscerated the visiting KENTUCKY TROPICS 132-64 ### Meanwhile, the LAKE REGION STATE ROYALS won 108-96 at the DAKOTA STATE AT BOTTINEAU LUMBERJACKS ### And the BRUNSWICK COLLEGE DOLPHINS downed the USC-SALKEHATCHIE INDIANS 104-98.
DOWN GOES NUMBER ONE – In this game the WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY CARDINALS welcomed the top ranked team in the nation – the TRINITY (CT) BANTAMS. The Cardinals put Trinity on Upset Alert with their 38-31 lead at the Half. After the break the Bantams rallied but fell short as Wesleyan U. triumphed 64-62 led by 22 points from Sam Pohlman.
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER FOUR – The OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY POLAR BEARS played host to the nation’s number 4 team – the UNIVERSITY OF MT. UNION PURPLE RAIDERS. This was a defensive epic, with the Polar Bears up 26-19 come Halftime before winning the game 64-50 from there. Aiden Harris led Ohio Northern University with 18 points.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring at least 100 points in Regulation: The CAIRN UNIVERSITY HIGHLANDERS won 104-83 at the PSU-ABINGTON LIONS ### Meanwhile, the GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY PANTHERS defeated their guests the BLACKBURN UNIVERSITY BEAVERS 124-110 ### And the TRINITY (TX) TIGERS downed the SEWANEE UNIVERSITY TIGERS 103-84.

DOWN GOES NUMBER NINE – The MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS welcomed the 9th ranked team in the nation – the INDIANA TECH WARRIORS (should be Hoplites). The Crusaders put Indiana Tech on Upset Alert by Halftime with their 52-42 advantage. From there, Madonna University kept their opponents at arm’s length for a 98-91 win. Ahmoni Weston led the Crusaders with THIRTY-TWO points.
