USCAA CHAMPS CROWNED PLUS NCCAA BASKETBALL POSTSEASON RESULTS

USCAA DIVISION ONE

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 4th seeded NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STALLIONS fought it out with the 3 seeds – the BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE (Syracuse) BOBCATS – for the USCAA Division One title. At Halftime the Stallions clung to a 36-34 edge but after the break they made their move. NAU took the crown with an 89-74 triumph led by Jamarric Hammond’s Double Double of 21 points and 11 rebounds.

USCAA DIVISION TWO

FIRST SEMIFINAL – The Cinderella 6 seeds – the MIAMI UNIVERSITY AT HAMILTON HARRIERS – kept on dancing in this clash with the 2nd seeded UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI AT CLERMONT COUGARS. UC-Clermont watched their 43-32 advantage at the Half melt away as the Harriers came back to win the game 76-66. Kaleb Wanamaker led MU-Hamilton with a Double Double of THIRTY points and 12 rebounds.

SECOND SEMIFINAL – Next, the top seeded PENN STATE AT YORK LIONS played the 5 seeds – the SOUTHWESTERN ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS. The Lions thoroughly embarrassed their opponents on both sides of the ball. PSU-York parlayed their 39-12 advantage at the midpoint into an 85-54 clobbering at game’s end. Twenty points from Quentin Wells led the victors, while his teammate James Barlow logged an unusual Double Double of 12 points and 24 rebounds.

NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DIVISION ONE

WEST REGION CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this game the 1 seeds – the NELSON AMERICAN INDIAN COLLEGE WARRIORS – clashed with the 2nd seeded JUSTICE UNIVERSITY LIONS. The Lions had Nelson worried at Halftime with their 40-34 lead. From there, the Warriors rallied to win this Instant Classic by a final score of 81-80. Wyatt Mackay tossed in 23 points to lead NAIC, while fellow Lion Terrin Ross had a Double Double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.

MIDEAST REGION PENULTIMATE GAME – This Region’s 2nd seeded OHIO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZERS played the 3 seeds – the ALICE LLOYD COLLEGE EAGLES – for the right to face top seeded Lancaster Bible College in the Championship Game. Alice Lloyd College were up 45-39 at the break, but the Trailblazers came from behind for an 88-82 victory. THIRTY-SIX points from Caleb Schmelzer led OCU.

NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DIVISION TWO

CENTRAL REGION CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last teams standing in this Region were the 2 seeds – the MANHATTAN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE THUNDER – and the top seeded SPURGEON COLLEGE KNIGHTS. A 45-45 Halftime tie became a 99-99 deadlock to end Regulation. In Overtime the Thunder prevailed 117-111 led by Xavier Lucas with his Double Double of 35 points & 10 rebounds. Teammate Fred Criqui had a Double Double of 13 points & 11 rebounds.

MIDWEST REGION CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The top seeded GREAT LAKES CHRISTIAN COLLEGE CRUSADERS took the court against the 3 seeds – the KUYPER COLLEGE COUGARS. At the Half, the Crusaders were on top 46-32. After the break the Cougars rallied slightly but fell far short as GLCC went on to win the game 81-71. LaTa’Vius Vaughter led the Crusaders with 19 points while his teammate Trae Ruggles notched a Double Double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.

SOUTH REGION CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this game the 1 seeds – the BOB JONES UNIVERSITY BRUINS – faced the 2nd seeded TRINITY COLLEGE OF JACKSONVILLE EAGLES. By the midpoint the Bruins had compiled a 50-42 advantage, and from there they squeezed out a bit more separation to defeat TCJ by a final tally of 99-89. Leading Bob Jones University were Shad Vander Hart and Trevor Pittman with 23 points each.

NORTH REGION CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 4th seeded NORTH CENTRAL UNIVERSITY RAMS squared off against the 2 seeds – the CROWN COLLEGE POLARS. The Polars were leading North Central University by a score of 35-26 at Halftime. In the 2nd Half the Rams mounted a furious rally, coming from behind for a 76-70 triumph. Twenty points from Carrington McNeal led NCU to the win.

    Interesting post. I don’t normally take any interest in the game of basketball but as always found your posts engaging to read. It brought to mind great movies about the game of basketball that I’ve seen and loved.
