NAIA BEATS NCAA DIVISION TWO – Once again an NAIA team – in this case the KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS – has defeated a team from the higher Division Two of the NCAA – in this case the CENTRAL STATE MARAUDERS. The Knights parlayed their 7-0 1st Quarter lead into a 28-14 advantage at Halftime. From there, they consummated the Upset 35-27.
NUMBER FOUR TAKES A FALL – Staying in the NAIA for the moment, this game pitted the NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS against the visiting number 4 team in the nation – the MORNINGSIDE UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie was unchanged at the Half. After the break, the Red Raiders toppled Morningside 14-13.
AND ANOTHER NUMBER FOUR FALLS – Down in NCAA Division Three, the 13th ranked UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT PLATTEVILLE PIONEERS welcomed the number 4 UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT LACROSSE EAGLES. A 21-14 Pioneers edge to end the 1st Half became a 28-14 lead in the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th, UW-Platteville put away the Eagles 38-21.
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER SEVEN – Back up in the NAIA, the 9th ranked CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS played host to the country’s number 7 LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS. At Halftime the Tigers were on top 20-10 and the 3rd Quarter ended with them up 27-17. In the 4th, the Blue Raiders rallied but fell short as CU won 34-31.
MARATHON GAME OF THE WEEK – This applies to the clash between D2’s FROSTBURG STATE BOBCATS and the home standing UNIVERSITY OF CHARLESTON GOLDEN EAGLES. At the Half the Golden Eagles led 10-7 but the 4th Quarter ended in a 24-24 tie. Neither team scored in the 1st Overtime and the 2nd OT ended in a 30-30 deadlock. In the THIRD OVERTIME the Bobcats got a Safety to win out 32-30.
SEVENTY-ONE – Down in the NJCAA, the number 1 defending national champions – the HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS – were less than gracious hosts to the INDEPENDENCE COLLEGE PIRATES. The Blue Dragons converted their 17-0 1st Quarter lead into a 37-0 advantage at the break. From there, Hutchinson College finished off the Pirates SEVENTY-ONE to TWELVE!
IT’S SHOWTIME! – The SHOWTIME ACADEMY SILVERBACKZ traveled to face the WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES MECHANICS yesterday. A 6-6 opening Quarter tie was followed by a 13-6 Mechanics lead come Halftime. A big 3rd Quarter for the Silverbackz put them up 18-13 and the 4th saw them put away Williamson by a final tally of 26-13.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The number 20 COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES took the field against the visiting 15th ranked UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA-WESTERN BULLDOGS and won a 28-21 thriller ### And the BAKER UNIVERSITY WILDCATS sent their guests the number 22 MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS back home nursing a 34-14 defeat.
ONE-POINT WONDER – In this game the WILLIAM WOODS UNIVERSITY OWLS welcomed the MISSOURI VALLEY COLLEGE VIKINGS. The Vikings were up 14-13 in the 1st Quarter and 35-19 at the midpoint. Neither team scored in the 3rd Quarter, but in the 4th the Owls came alive to shut out MVC while exploding for 17 points and a 36-35 comeback win.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS downed the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS 28-21 ### Meanwhile, the ST. AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES beat the GRACELAND UNIVERSITY YELLOWJACKETS 43-36 ### And the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS survived a 21-17 visit from the MONTANA STATE-NORTHERN LIGHTS.
UNHAPPY HOMECOMING – The AVILA UNIVERSITY EAGLES (formerly the Avalanche) traveled to play the BETHANY COLLEGE SWEDES for their combined Homecoming/ Hyllningsfest celebrations. Come Halftime, things stood at a 20-20 deadlock. The 3rd Quarter ended with the Avalanche up 27-23 and the 4th in a 27-26 victory.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The NORTH GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZERS knocked off the visiting (19) UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT PEMBROKE BRAVES 20-7 ### Meanwhile, the SAGINAW VALLEY STATE CARDINALS won 20-19 at the (12) GRAND VALLEY STATE LAKERS ### And the WESTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY WOLVES edged the (11) TEXAS-PERMIAN BASIN FALCONS 31-28.
OFF THE SCHNEID – The ERSKINE COLLEGE FLYING FLEET finally got in the win column for 2025 against their hosts the SHORTER UNIVERSITY HAWKS. The Hawks saw their 10-0 1st Quarter advantage melt to just 19-14 by Halftime. From there, the Flying Fleet went up 20-19 in the 3rd Quarter before winning the game 23-19 in the 4th.
ALL NAME GAMES – The WASHBURN UNIVERSITY ICHABODS routed the UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES 37-17 ### Elsewhere, the SETON HILL UNIVERSITY GRIFFINS doubled up on the GANNON UNIVERSITY GOLDEN KNIGHTS 28-14 ### And the WALSH UNIVERSITY CAVALIERS won 20-13 at the LAKE ERIE COLLEGE STORM.
GOLDEN DEFENSIVE PLAY – This unusual game found the ALBANY (GA) STATE GOLDEN RAMS hosting the storied TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN TIGERS. Both defenses put on a clinic, with a 7-0 1st Quarter lead for the Golden Rams representing all of their scoring. That was good enough for the win since the Golden Tigers were held to just a Field Goal as Albany State won 7-3.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The number 14 JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY BLUE STREAKS took it on the road against the 11th ranked DEPAUW UNIVERSITY TIGERS and defeated them by a tight score of 31-27 ### And the WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY PIRATES visited the number 24 LINFIELD COLLEGE WILDCATS and won 30-20.
PUTTING IN OVERTIME – This game pitted the CENTENARY COLLEGE GENTLEMEN against the home standing LYON COLLEGE SCOTS. The Gentlemen’s 18-7 1st Quarter lead was unchanged come Halftime. The Scots forced OT with a 20-20 tie to end Regulation, but Centenary College won 23-20 in the extra session.
COOL-NAME BOWLS – The CLAREMONT-MUDD-SCRIPPS COLLEGE STAGS played host to the LA VERNE UNIVERSITY LEOPARDS and beat them 22-19 ### Next, the ILLINOIS COLLEGE BLUEBOYS trounced the KNOX COLLEGE PRAIRIE FIRE 64-14 ### And the TUFTS UNIVERSITY JUMBOS won 38-28 at the HAMILTON COLLEGE CONTINENTALS.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – The MUSKINGUM UNIVERSITY MUSKIES found themselves on the road against the MARIETTA COLLEGE PIONEERS. A 7-7 opening Quarter tie turned into a 21-17 Muskies edge by Halftime. The Pioneers went on top 31-21 to finish off the 3rd Quarter, but Muskingum University roared back in the 4th for a 35-31 triumph.

SENIOR DAY – The NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS marked Senior Day against the KEYSTONE COLLEGE GIANTS. The Builders raced out to a quick 24-7 1st Quarter advantage and remained in control from there. At the Half the Apprentice School led 31-21 and the 3rd Quarter ended with the Builders up 45-21. That held up as the final score, too.
RAVENS IN FLIGHT – This game saw the WESTGATE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY GOLD RAVENS play host to the ATLANTIS UNIVERSITY ATLANTEANS. Even though Atlantis University was expected to dominate NSAC football they have instead struggled and the Gold Ravens were happy to rub salt in their wounds yesterday by defeating them 22-6.
JAWS ON THE ROAD – The LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE MAKOS (as in the sharks) took it on the road against the MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE HURRICANES. The Makos led their opponents 20-7 at Halftime, and after the break Lighthouse Christian College got a bit more separation from the Hurricanes. The Makos won 33-14.
CLOBBERIN’ TIME – In this game the GORDON STATE HIGHLANDERS took the field against the visiting OMEGA PREP ACADEMY BULLDOGS. The Highlanders proceeded to dominate Omega Prep on both sides of the ball, stifling them on defense and putting up points handily on offense. The final score Saturday was 33-6.

CLOSE CALL FOR NUMBER THREE – The number 3 team in the nation – the TYLER COLLEGE APACHES – paid a visit to the CISCO COLLEGE WRANGLERS. These two familiar foes fought it out in an Instant Classic among gridiron grudge matches. The Halftime score was knotted up at 20-20, but after the break the Apaches pulled out a 37-33 victory.
ROAD THRILLERS – The MESABI RANGE COLLEGE NORSE won a 26-24 nailbiter at the MINNESOTA STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE BLUE JAYS ### Meanwhile, the COLLEGE OF DUPAGE CHAPARRALS notched a 29-23 win over the HOCKING COLLEGE HAWKS ### And the ROCHESTER TECHNICAL COLLEGE YELLOWJACKETS won 41-40 at the NORTH DAKOTA STATE COLLEGE OF SCIENCE WILDCATS.
WORKING OVERTIME – This game saw the LOUISBURG COLLEGE HURRICANES host the CENTRAL GEORGIA TECHNICAL COLLEGE TITANS. A 7-7 opening Quarter tie became a 14-12 Titans edge at Halftime. An explosive 2nd Half ended in a 35-35 tie before the Hurricanes won out 42-35 in the extra session.
HAPPY HOME STANDS – The (12) COFFEYVILLE COLLEGE RED RAVENS toppled the (9) IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS 34-21 for Homecoming ### Next, the ELLSWORTH COLLEGE PANTHERS defeated the DODGE CITY COLLEGE CONQUISTADORS by a final score of 21-13 ### And the (14) BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES won 38-3 over the HIGHLAND COLLEGE SCOTTIES.

EASY AS ONE, TWO, THREE – The number 1 COLLEGE OF SAN MATEO BULLDOGS logged a 29-7 victory at the (18) FOOTHILL COLLEGE OWLS ### Elsewhere, the 2nd ranked GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE RUSTLERS obliterated the ORANGE COAST COLLEGE PIRATES 69-6 in their own house ### And the number 3 VENTURA COLLEGE PIRATES prevailed 31-17 over the (17) CITRUS COLLEGE OWLS.
UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The 15th ranked RIVERSIDE CITY COLLEGE TIGERS smacked down the home standing number 4 team, the SOUTHWESTERN (CA) COLLEGE JAGUARS by a score of 69-42 ### And the 13th ranked COLLEGE OF THE SEQUOIAS GIANTS embarrassed the number 5 MONTERY PENINSULA COLLEGE LOBOS to the tune of SIXTY-THREE to TWENTY-SIX.
EXTRA SESSION – In this game the SANTA MONICA COLLEGE CORSAIRS traveled to play the SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE WOLVERINES. San Bernardino Valley was on top 17-7 at the Half, but the Corsairs forced Overtime with a 24-24 tie to end the 4th Quarter. In that extra session, Santa Monica College beat the Wolverines 30-24.
ROAD RAGE – The GROSSMONT COLLEGE GRIFFINS notched an authoritative 40-19 victory at the PIERCE COLLEGE BRAHMA BULLS ### Meanwhile, the CONTRA COSTA COLLEGE COMETS downed their hosts the CHABOT COLLEGE GLADIATORS 22-14 ### And the COLLEGE OF THE DESERT ROADRUNNERS annihilated the COMPTON COLLEGE TARTARS 64-6.
