FOR OVERSEAS READERS CURIOUS ABOUT THIS LAST-MINUTE MADNESS THAT THE DEMOCRATS HAVE CHOSEN TO INFLICT ON THE NATION: There was a time several decades ago when presidential election campaigns didn’t kick off in earnest until after the nominating conventions of both major political parties.
Believe it or not, there was a time when LABOR DAY was the traditional start of hardcore presidential campaigning. In this era of instant communication, it should be even easier to conduct such quick campaigns. Bump the nominating conventions up a few months earlier if need be.
Yes, unlike recent decades, the candidates were not campaigning entire calendar years before our November election day. Sure, you still had Primary Season on the way to seeing who each party would nominate, but our current nonsense involving “Old Soils Himself” Joe Biden and Kamala “Koo-Koo for Cocoa Puffs” Harris would not be as chaotic IF campaigns still operated that way.
Maybe the Democrats and Republicans will look at this year and say “Hey, the less time that the opposing party has to dirty up our candidate and THE LESS TIME THEY HAVE TO EVEN KNOW WHO OUR FINAL CANDIDATE WILL BE, the better.” And from the other party’s side, why spend all that money and effort trashing one opponent only to have to switch gears completely for a new one at around the time WHEN STARTING HARDCORE CAMPAIGNING USED TO BE THE NORM?
Sadly, I don’t expect that to ever happen. Anyway, on to headlines.

Great posts as always. I don’t take an interest in politics but always find your posts entertaining to read. The story about the Black Lives Matter movement definitely stood out to me. It’s sad to see how little has changed in the country’s treatment of black communities. The Black Lives Matter movement has historically faced challenges. The story about the BLM in the article brought to mind the film “Detroit”. Based on a true story, this historical drama captured real-life riots in Detroit orchestrated by African-American protestors. The protests were a result of injustice in the legal system. A timely movie which discusses the themes that you raised in this article. Definitely worth watching if you are interested in the history of BLM.

Exactly, and they’ve been getting it right more often than the corporate media in recent years.
I wait until I hear ‘whatever’ a few times (which I also do for Fox), but citizens are almost almost always right and ahead of the rest.

Right now, the Democrats have exposed themselves for the corrupt, anti-democracy goons that they are. They can lie and cover up all they want, but the game is up. Too many people around the world have watched this whole thing play out. I’m sure they already have a plan in place to cheat, no matter who the candidate is.
