Minnesota State Mavericks logoNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This clash for the crown pitted the MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS against the NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY SHARKS.

Come Halftime the Sharks were clinging to a 40-38 edge over Minnesota State. From there the Mavericks managed a comeback, ultimately defeating Nova Southeastern by a final tally of 88-85. Dylan Peeters tossed in 19 points to lead MSU to victory.

NCAA DIVISION THREE

trine thunderFINAL FOUR: FIRST BERTH – The TRINE UNIVERSITY THUNDER collided with the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT PLATTEVILLE PIONEERS.

The Pioneers were on top 42-34 at the Half, but Trine University forced Overtime with a 78-78 tie to end Regulation. In the extra session the Thunder emerged with an 88-86 win in this Instant Classic. Drew Moore’s 24 points led Trine.

guilford quakersFINAL FOUR: SECOND BERTH – The GUILFORD COLLEGE QUAKERS took the court against the CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT UNIVERSITY CAPTAINS.   

This was a defensive epic, with the Quakers up by a mere 22-19 over the Captains by the midpoint of the game. The 2nd Half saw equally smothering defensive play as Guilford College won out 50-48. The Quakers’ Julius Burch led his team with a near Double Double of 21 points and 9 rebounds. 

trinity bantamsFINAL FOUR: THIRD BERTH – In this game the TRINITY (CT) BANTAMS faced the CALVIN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS.

The 1st Half ended with the Bantams out in front of Calvin University 30-23. After the break the two teams traded basket for basket, adding 39 points each to their tally. In the end Trinity College defeated the Knights 69-62. Fifteen points from Ben Callahan-Gold led the Bantams.

hampden sydney college tigersFINAL FOUR: LAST BERTH – The HAMPDEN-SYDNEY COLLEGE TIGERS and the NEBRASKA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY PRAIRIE WOLVES fought it out for the final slot in this year’s D3 Final Four. 

“Win one for Oona” was the slogan of the game as the Tigers led Nebraska Wesleyan 36-26 at Halftime. From there they downed the Prairie Wolves by a score of 68-60 led by Adam Brazil’s 22 points. Teammate Josiah Hardy notched a Double Double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.

  2. You might have to write about Caitlin Clark. That woman is electric! I actually watched 2 minutes of her play–couldn’t turn away! And you know me–no serious basketball fan.
