Okay, as always here at Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog I find it humbling when overseas readers pay me the compliment of asking me to explain, in non-partisan terms, the cesspool of corruption called America’s political system. In this case, the absurd notion that the events of January 6th, 2021 were “an insurrection” (LMAO). I will address other recent events tomorrow or so, but today it’s just about January 6th.
ONE: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED THAT DAY WOULD HAVE SOMEHOW MADE DONALD TRUMP THE WINNER OF THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. This is crucial. It doesn’t matter if you support Trump or hate him, NOTHING that might have happened in Congress on January 6th could have “overturned the 2020 election.”
The members of Congress who opposed certifying the results were citing the need for further investigation of election results that day – as Democrat members of Congress did after Donald Trump’s election in 2016. In the Democrats’ case it was over their long-disproven claims of Russian Collusion/ Russian Interference. (But at least Democrats got to conduct ENDLESS investigations of their claims in the years ahead.)
TWO: THE REPUBLICANS DID NOT HAVE THE VOTES TO PREVENT CERTIFYING THE ELECTION RESULTS. Just as the Congressional Democrats did not have the votes to block certification in January 2017 against Trump, Congressional Republicans did not have the votes to block certification on January 6th 2021.
Even if there were no protests and arrests, January 6th would have ended the same way it did – without enough votes to send election results back to the states with suspect results for further investigation, pro-Trump Congressional reps would have been outvoted and the 2020 election results WOULD HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED ANYWAY.
And, if you’ll recall that IS what happened anyway once the protesters were removed. The interruption was followed by the majority refusal to permit pro-Trump representatives from citing their reasons for doubting the 2020 results, as the Democrats had been granted the courtesy of citing their doubts regarding Trump’s election in 2016.
So, it’s amazing that those first two items even have to be clarified at this late date and it reflects on America’s joke of an educational system (LMAO) that so many adults do not understand our country’s own procedures.
But, to recap – NOTHING could have happened that day to declare Trump the winner of the 2020 election. Even if the Republicans raising questions about the election results had had the votes (which they didn’t), those results would have just been sent back to the states for further investigation.
THREE: THERE IS NO WAY TRUMP COULD HAVE JUST REFUSED TO LEAVE OFFICE. The many, many staff members needed to keep a presidential administration running had already tendered their resignations, as is customary.
This is one of the silliest claims by the anti-Trump people. Do they think running the United States is like running a family diner? Do they imagine that Trump could have just figuratively said “Melania, you bus the tables, Don Junior, you do the cooking, Jared, you work the counter!”
FOUR: THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT TRUMP WAS PURSUING ANY EXTRA-LEGAL MEANS OF REMAINING IN OFFICE. The Democrats held exhaustive hearings about the events of January 6th, 2021 and found no evidence of a “coup” (as Democrats were already calling it) – even with the Democrats blocking minority party assignments to the committee in order to select anti-Trump Republicans instead – and even with them NOT ALLOWING TRUMP’S LEGAL TEAM TO INTERROGATE WITNESSES OR PRESENT ANY EVIDENCE OF THEIR OWN.
That’s not an investigation, that’s a kangaroo court. And yet, the anti-Trump forces STILL could not produce any evidence that he was planning a takeover. Given the absurd charges that Democrats HAVE been taking Trump to court over, does ANY reasonable person believe that if there was proof that Trump had been running such a conspiracy that Democrats would not have produced it or leaked it to the media long before now?
It certainly appears that anti-Trump forces simply keep alive the “insurrection” (LMAO) myth in order to keep Trump in court. “The process is the punishment” as the old saying goes, and they are counting on legal proceedings – especially any appeals – dragging on long enough to prevent Trump from winning in 2024. The end result will no doubt be vindication for Trump, as in all the other unfounded accusations against him, but by then it will be far too late regarding the next election.
FIVE: NO POLICE WERE KILLED BY PROTESTERS THAT DAY, AND IT’S BEYOND ALARMING THAT SOME PEOPLE STILL BELIEVE THAT SOME WERE. Media outlets lie. Politicians lie. The fact that some politicians continue to make fiery public claims about police being killed that day – then “clarifying” those claims with no fanfare later – is genuinely alarming no matter which side of this issue you’re on.
Okay, so no matter if you like Trump or hate him with a passion, can people stop pretending that anything that happened on January 6th, 2021 could have prevented Joe Biden from being sworn in when Inauguration Day arrived? I’m intentionally leaving out all manner of side issues in this blog post just to clarify the January 6th “insurrection” (LMAO) myth.
And in previous posts I’ve clarified the long history of far greater violence at the Capitol Building from long before Donald Trump even ran for president. In the days ahead, I will examine the many revelations of the latest whistleblowers against the Bidens, but for today, I just wanted to clarify this one item.
People who pretend January 6th was an insurrection (LMAO) do not deserve to be taken seriously. It’s like when people claim Trump was “worse than Hitler.”

I live in D. C. and witnessed the whole thing. I wasn’t a part of it. What I think people in Congress were reacting to was the trauma of having angry people show up and riot in the Capitol Building.
It was a riot and ended shortly after it started. It was frightening to me as a riot would be but it was not an insurrection or anything of the sort.
I think personally there is a dance of anger between the Congressional Democrats and Donald Trump, most notably Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff. Then there is Liz Cheney who is the old guard Republican. Those folks lost power when Trump was elected. I believe that under the surface of Trump’s election was a regime change from the old power groups. That is what they are reacting to when they label January 6, 2021 an insurrection.
They want their power back.
Very nicely put. You summarized so much of it perfectly. I also think they continue to use Trump as an example to any other political outsiders who might ever threaten “the club”.
It’s amazing how many in America and around the world got the wrong information. That besides everything else is scary.

January 6 was more like the Bay Of Pigs [as a pretext for the Deep State to consolidate even more their power].
I agree that it was used to stigmatize anyone protesting the incoming administration, and locking up the protesters – who STILL remain in prison – served as an example of the lengths the new regime was willing to go to. And it worked. Countless gutless American “conservative patriots” turned their backs on all of those locked up protesters before they even had their day in court – which many of them are STILL waiting for. So much for that “speedy trial” concept. I feel in the future these protesters will be looked at as sympathetically as the Bonus Marchers of long ago, but for now they are being used as public examples for the Biden Regime.

Revolt:
1: a renouncing of allegiance (as to a government or party)
especially : a determined armed uprising
2: a movement or expression of vigorous dissent
Dissent:
1: to withhold assent or approval
2: to differ in opinion
Well, a day of dissonance when people came together because they believe something is terribly wrong doesn’t sound as damning as an insurrection. There were arms present and held with rights and pride, and no armed uprising. Thank you for bringing up the fact that no officers were killed, just an unarmed woman. Glad to read people across the seas reach out. Corruption follows power (not in every circumstance, but so often) everywhere until the minds of men (all of us, whatever) evolve beyond greed.
