TOPPLING NUMBER SIX – In NCAA Division 2 the 16th ranked INDIANA UNIVERSITY IN PENNSYLVANIA CRIMSON HAWKS welcomed the number 6 team in the nation – the SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY RAMS. The Crimson Hawks led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 10-7 come Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with IUP on top 24-7, but they had to hold on in the 4th against a furious Rams rally for a 24-21 win.
CLOSE CALL FOR NUMBER TWO – Down in NCAA Division 3 the number 2 UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT WHITEWATER WARHAWKS paid a visit to the BALDWIN WALLACE UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS. This odd game saw the Warhawks out in front 17-0 at the Half. After a scoreless 3rd Quarter the Yellow Jackets rallied for 21 points in the 4th but fell short. UW-Whitewater won out 23-21.
MARATHON GAME OF THE WEEK – Back in D2 the CONCORD UNIVERSITY MOUNTAIN LIONS found themselves on the road against the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT PEMBROKE BRAVES. The Mountain Lions held a 21-20 edge at the Half but Regulation ended in a 41-41 tie. It took FIVE OVERTIMES before Concord emerged with a 58-56 win.
NUMBER TWO TAKES A FALL – Down in the NJCAA the 12th ranked EAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE LIONS visited the number 2 NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE RANGERS. By the end of the 3rd Quarter the Lions led the Rangers 30-22. Each team put up 6 points in the 4th as EMC won the game 36-28.
USCAA GAME OF THE WEEK – In the United States Collegiate Athletic Association the NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS (think Shipbuilders) traveled to New Jersey to take on the SUSSEX COUNTY COLLEGE SKYLANDERS. The Builders grabbed a quick 14-0 1st Quarter lead and never looked back on their way to a 44-0 rout.

UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – In this game the (21) CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS traveled to face the (11) COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES and toppled them 21-6. And the OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS won 38-31 at the (24) ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The UNIVERSITY OF SAINT MARY SPIRES survived a 21-16 visit from the TABOR COLLEGE BLUEJAYS ### Meanwhile, the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES notched a 23-20 road win over the MOUNT MARTY UNIVERSITY LANCERS ### And the PERU STATE BOBCATS triumphed over the CULVER-STOCKTON COLLEGE WILDCATS 17-12.
WHEN RANKED TEAMS CLASH – The (10) SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE MOUNDBUILDERS welcomed the (25) KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES and defeated them 26-20 ### The (12) SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS downed the (19) UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS 24-21 ### And the (8) LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS won 23-17 over the (16) GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS.

WHY DON’T WE DO IT ON THE ROAD? – This game pitted the CROWN COLLEGE POLARS against the home standing WESTMINSTER COLLEGE BLUE JAYS. A 6-0 1st Quarter lead for the Polars remained unchanged at Halftime. After the break the Blue Jays outscored Crown College 22-20 but the Polars prevailed by a final count of 26-22.
BLOWOUT – The AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES played host to the WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS. The Gyrenes kept the Royals off the scoreboard until the 4th Quarter while putting up several points for themselves. A 14-0 AMU lead in the opening Quarter was only a start as the Gyrenes clobbered Warner U. 48-6.
LION ON LION VIOLENCE – The SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS took the field against the visiting LANGSTON UNIVERSITY LIONS. By Halftime SAGU were on top 19-14 and after the break they outscored Langston University 20-7 for a 39-21 victory.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY GOLDEN BEARS traveled to face the (10) SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY “ROCK”. The Golden Bears put the Rock on Upset Alert 17-7 at the midpoint. After a scoreless 3rd Quarter, Kutztown University won out 23-21 in the 4th.
WORKING OVERTIME – The SHIPPENSBURG UNIVERSITY RED RAIDERS triumphed in a 35-28 OT affair at the GANNON UNIVERSITY GOLDEN KNIGHTS ### Elsewhere, the BENTLEY UNIVERSITY FALCONS won 18-10 in the extra session at the PACE UNIVERSITY SETTERS (Irish Setters) ### And the WHEELING UNIVERSITY CARDINALS defeated the FAIRMONT STATE FALCONS 31-28 in OT.
ALL-NAME GAMES – The UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-KEARNEY LOPERS crushed their hosts the NORTHEASTERN STATE RIVERHAWKS by a score of 42-0 ### The SOUTHERN NAZARENE UNIVERSITY CRIMSON STORM won 56-21 at the OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON ### And the EDINBORO UNIVERSITY FIGHTING SCOTS doubled-up on the LOCK HAVEN UNIVERSITY BALD EAGLES 26-13.

ONE-POINT OVERTIME WONDERS – The ANNA MARIA COLLEGE AMCATS won a 27-26 OT clash against the CASTLETON UNIVERSITY SPARTANS. And the KEYSTONE COLLEGE GIANTS, meanwhile, used the extra session to defeat the home standing DEAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS 45-44.
YOU KNOW THE PATTERN – In keeping with so many other games yesterday came a similar outcome in the clash between the CARLETON COLLEGE KNIGHTS and the visiting CONCORDIA (Moorhead) COBBERS. The Knights led 14-0 at the Half and 17-0 to end the 3rd Quarter. To end the 4th, the Cobbers rallied furiously, but fell short as Carleton managed a 17-14 victory.
OTHER TYPES OF “RANKED” TEAMS – The CENTRE COLLEGE COLONELS eviscerated their guests the MILLSAPS COLLEGE MAJORS in a 57-3 laugher ### Elsewhere, the CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT UNIVERSITY CAPTAINS fell to the SALISBURY UNIVERSITY SEA GULLS 36-33 ### And the WASHINGTON & LEE UNIVERSITY GENERALS were defeated by the SHENANDOAH HORNETS 16-13.

NUMBER THREE TAKES A FALL – The 15th ranked KILGORE COLLEGE RANGERS visited the number 3 team in the land – the TRINITY VALLEY COLLEGE CARDINALS. The two familiar foes engaged in a gridiron battle that ultimately ended in a comfortable 38-10 triumph for the Rangers.
NUMBER ONE SURVIVES – In this game the number 1 HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS were entertained by the 4th ranked IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS. The Reivers led 14-10 in the 1st Quarter but the Blue Dragons went up 17-14 by Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended in a 21-17 Iowa Western advantage and the 4th in a 29-28 Hutchinson College win.
HOME AND AWAY – The home standing (8) NEW MEXICO MILITARY INSTITUTE BRONCOS (should be the Cavalry) won a 24-23 thriller against the (9) NAVARRO COLLEGE BULLDOGS. And the (6) COFFEYVILLE COLLEGE RED RAVENS visited the GARDEN CITY COLLEGE BRONCBUSTERS, defeating them 30-21.
