THREE OVER TWO – In the NAIA the number 3 team in the nation – the MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS – traveled to face the 2nd ranked NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS. The Mustangs led 14-10 in the 1st Quarter but the Red Raiders went up 26-24 by Halftime. Morningside College went back on top 34-33 to end the 3rd Quarter before cementing the Upset in the 4th with a 55-49 win.
NUMBER FIVE TAKES A FALL – Staying in the NAIA for a moment, the CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY EAGLES welcomed America’s 5th ranked BAKER UNIVERSITY WILDCATS. The Eagles put the Wildcats on Upset Alert at the break with a 7-6 edge, then led 14-12 in the 3rd Quarter and won out in the end 21-19.
DOWN GOES NUMBER SIX – Over in NCAA Division Two the SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE SAVAGE STORM visited the country’s number 6 team – the OUACHITA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY TIGERS. The Savage Storm parlayed a 7-0 opening Quarter lead into a 28-7 advantage at the Half. After the break SOSU held off the Tigers to win the game 35-21.
EIGHTY-FOUR – Down in NCAA Division Three the LAKE FOREST COLLEGE FORESTERS played host to the BELOIT COLLEGE BUCCANEERS yesterday. By the midpoint of the game the Foresters held an amazing 56-3 lead. They never looked back from there, ultimately triumphing by a final score of EIGHTY-FOUR to THREE.
USCAA GAME OF THE WEEK – In the United States Collegiate Athletic Association the SHENANDOAH UNIVERSITY HORNETS took the field against the visiting NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS (Shipbuilders). The Hornets led 14-0, 21-3 and 28-10 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters respectively before winning it 35-16 in the 4th.
DOWN GOES NUMBER ONE – Down in the NJCAA, the 10th ranked HINDS COLLEGE EAGLES visited the nation’s number 1 EAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE LIONS. The 4th Quarter ended in a 35-35 tie, following which the Eagles won in Overtime 42-41 off a missed PAT by the Lions.
WELCOME TO MUDDY WATERS STADIUM – The storied HILLSDALE COLLEGE CHARGERS hosted the KENTUCKY WESLEYAN COLLEGE PANTHERS at Frank “Muddy” Waters Stadium. The Chargers were in control all through this lopsided game, converting a 21-6 Halftime advantage into a 31-12 rout of the Panthers.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM toppled their hosts the number 18 LANGSTON UNIVERSITY LIONS 40-37 in an Overtime thriller ### And the THOMAS MORE UNIVERSITY SAINTS surprised the home standing BETHEL (TN) WILDCATS by a final tally of 24-14.
LATE SEASON HOPE – The struggling LYON COLLEGE SCOTS got some hope for next year with another late season win. The Scots battled the LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS yesterday and saw their 21-14 Halftime lead get cut to 28-26 in the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Lyon College prevailed over LCU 35-33.
WORKIN’ OVERTIME – The MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS took it on the road against the MISSOURI VALLEY COLLEGE VIKINGS and won 42-35 in the extra session ### And the CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS notched a 20-17 Overtime victory against the visiting SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY RAIDERS (should be the Sea Gulls).
POLO SCORE – This game pitted the UNIVERSITY OF PIKEVILLE BEARS against the home standing CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY PHOENIX. A 7-6 opening Quarter edge for the Bears remained unchanged at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with Pikesville leading 14-6. In the 4th a Phoenix rally fell short 14-9.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE defeated the SAINT ANDREWS UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS by a score of 21-14 ### Meanwhile the LAWRENCE TECH BLUE DEVILS won 31-28 at the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS ### And the FLORIDA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY LIONS defeated the WEBBER INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WARRIORS 34-31.

HAPPY SENIOR DAY – The STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS played host to the OTTAWA (KS) UNIVERSITY BRAVES in this game. The Braves only scored 6 points, and those didn’t come until the 3rd Quarter. Meanwhile the Warriors put up 7 points in each of the other Quarters for a 21-6 Senior Day triumph.
MAULED – The OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS (should be Purple Tigers) faced the visiting TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS. The Tigers were out in front 7-0 in the 1st Quarter and 20-6 come Halftime. From there Olivet Nazarene University coasted to a convincing 41-14 beatdown of the Trojans.
SHUTOUT – The GENEVA COLLEGE GOLDEN TORNADOES took the field against their guests the THIEL COLLEGE TOMCATS. The Golden Tornadoes seized a quick 21-0 opening Quarter lead and never looked back from there. In the end Geneva College obliterated the Tomcats to the tune of FORTY-NINE to NOTHING.
BLOWOUT SATURDAY – Close games were a thing unknown in the NCCAA yesterday. The OTTAWA UNIVERSITY (AZ) SPIRIT crushed the home standing WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS (should be Flying Ws) 61-30 ### The WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS fell to their guests the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES 48-23 ### And the SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS won 63-0 at the TEXAS COLLEGE STEERS.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAVEN CHARGERS brought down the number 15 BENTLEY UNIVERSITY FALCONS by a count of 31-14 ### Elsewhere, the 16th ranked ROCK of SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY upset the 13th ranked CALIFORNIA (PA) UNIVERSITY VULCANS 38-26 ### And the WEST TEXAS A&M BUFFALOES snuck past the number 18 MIDWESTERN STATE MUSTANGS 15-12.
SETTING THE PACE – The PACE UNIVERSITY SETTERS (as in Irish Setters) welcomed the SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE OWLS. By Halftime the Owls were on top 9-0 but the Setters went up 15-9 to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Pace University held on for an 18-16 victory.
PUTTING IN OVERTIME – The DELTA STATE STATESMEN emerged with a 24-21 Overtime victory against the visiting MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE CHOCTAWS ### And the NEWBERRY COLLEGE WOLVES needed Double Overtime to defeat the WINGATE UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS by a final score of 41-35.
TEXAS TUSSLE – The TEXAS A&M AT KINGSVILLE JAVELINAS were on the road against the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT THE PERMIAN BASIN FALCONS. This tale of two Halves saw the Javelinas comfortably on top 23-6 at the break, then having to hold on from there for a 29-22 triumph.
ALL-NAME GAMES – The ARKANSAS TECH WONDER BOYS sent the NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE RANGERS back home reeling from a 56-21 beatdown ### The WASHBURN UNIVERSITY ICHABODS downed their hosts the PITTSBURG (KS) STATE GORILLAS 28-26 ### And the SOUTHERN ARKANSAS UNIVERSITY MULERIDERS won 24-10 at the SOUTHERN NAZARENE UNIVERSITY CRIMSON STORM.

UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The number 24 ITHACA COLLEGE BOMBERS upset the visiting 13th ranked UNION (NY) COLLEGE DUTCHMEN in a 26-7 rout ### And the CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY TARTANS toppled the number 22 WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON COLLEGE PRESIDENTS by a score of 27-11.
OVERTIME AFFAIR – This game pitted the HEIDELBERG UNIVERSITY STUDENT PRINCES against their guests the JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY BLUE STREAKS. A 7-0 1st Quarter lead for the Student Princes became a mere 14-13 edge by Halftime. In the 2nd Half the Blue Streaks forced Overtime with a 21-21 tie. In the extra session Heidelberg U won out 27-21.
ONE-POINT WONDERS – The UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE LEOPARDS held on to survive a 38-37 visit from the POMONA-PITZER COLLEGE SAGEHENS ### Meanwhile the BATES COLLEGE BOBCATS won 25-24 at the BOWDOIN COLLEGE POLAR BEARS ### And the CORNELL (IA) COLLEGE RAMS logged a 35-34 road win at the KNOX COLLEGE PRAIRIE FIRE.
A DOUBLE-SHOT OF THAT OT LOVE – The 23rd ranked RENSSELAER POLYTECHNICAL INSTITUTE ENGINEERS visited the SAINT LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY SAINTS. In this Defensive Epic a 7-7 deadlock at the Half remained unchanged to end the 4th Quarter. The 1st Overtime ended in a 14-14 tie but in the 2nd the Engineers emerged with a 22-20 victory.
SHUTOUTS – The PACIFIC LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY LUTES shut out the visiting PUGET SOUND UNIVERSITY LOGGERS 33-0 ### Elsewhere the UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO MAROONS blanked the LAWRENCE COLLEGE VIKINGS 66-0 ### And the WILLIAMS COLLEGE EPHS (eephs) achieved defensive perfection against the WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY CARDINALS 25-0.

NUMBER TWO PREVAILS – The number 2 IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS took it on the road against the 15th ranked GEORGIA MILITARY COLLEGE BULLDOGS. After a scoreless 1st Quarter the Reivers led 10-2 at Halftime. That became 17-2 in the 3rd Quarter before a Bulldogs rally in the 4th fell short, with Iowa Western winning 23-19.
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER THREE – The 5th ranked NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE RANGERS traveled to face the number 3 JONES COLLEGE BOBCATS. After a 20-7 lead for the Rangers at the break, the 3rd Quarter ended with the Bobcats trailing by just 20-13. From there Northwest Mississippi held on for a 26-20 victory.
HOME STANDS – The NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M GOLDEN NORSEMEN dispatched their guests the BLINN COLLEGE BUCCANEERS 21-8 ### Meanwhile the KILGORE COLLEGE RANGERS downed the TYLER COLLEGE APACHES 31-21 ### And the NAVARRO COLLEGE BULLDOGS edged the CISCO COLLEGE WRANGLERS 35-30.
