The Golden Eagles put the Falcons on Upset Alert with a 17-14 Halftime lead and ultimately won the game 38-28.
NUMBER NINE FALLS, TOO – Staying in D2 for a moment, the 23rd ranked UNIVERSITY OF WEST ALABAMA TIGERS took it on the road against the country’s number 9 UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA WOLVES. A 24-17 lead for the Tigers at the break ended up in a 38-20 Upset victory for them.
HISTORY IN THE NCCAA – The ERSKINE COLLEGE FLYING FLEET, in their very first year of intercollegiate football, notched their first ever victory yesterday. It came against their guests the VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY OF LYNCHBURG DRAGONS. The Flying Fleet were chasing the Dragons 7-3 in the opening Quarter but were on top 24-7 come Halftime. They never looked back on their way to a 59-13 blowout.
SEVENTY – In the NAIA the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS took the field against the visiting PRESENTATION COLLEGE SAINTS (should be the Angels). The Blue Hawks parlayed a 22-0 1st Quarter lead into a 36-7 advantage at the break, and ultimately a resounding SEVENTY to FOURTEEN smackdown of Presentation College.
HILLSDALE ON THE ROAD – NCAA Division Two’s storied HILLSDALE COLLEGE CHARGERS visited the (24) TIFFIN UNIVERSITY DRAGONS. The Chargers led 3-0, 10-7 and 24-7 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters respectively but then had to hold on against a Dragons rally in the 4th to win it 24-21.
NAIA OVER NCAA – The NAIA’s IOWA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY TIGERS played host to NCAA Division Three’s CROWN COLLEGE STORM. The Tigers parlayed a 35-20 Halftime advantage into a 69-28 blowout victory. For 2021 the NAIA has won 3 weeks, NCAA Division Three has won 1 week and the teams tied 1 week.
MONROE CONQUERS DIVISION TWO – From the NJCAA the MONROE COLLEGE MUSTANGS traveled to face the NCAA Division Two team the POST UNIVERSITY EAGLES, who are in their first year of intercollegiate football. The Mustangs showed no mercy, thrashing the Eagles 56-15 for going by the most overused nickname in college sports. (I’m kidding. But not about the score.)
USCAA GAME OF THE WEEK – In the United States Collegiate Athletic Association the THADDEUS STEVENS COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY BULLDOGS entertained the WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES MECHANICS. A 13-0 Bulldogs lead at the Half ended in a 59-0 evisceration of the Mechanics.
UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY RAIDERS (Sea Gulls) toppled the visiting (18) EASTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS 24-3 ### Meanwhile the ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS overcame their guests the (20) MONTANA WESTERN BULLDOGS 41-31 ### And the CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS won 28-21 at the (23) COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES.

ONE POINT WONDERS – The PERU STATE BOBCATS notched a 23-22 road victory over the EVANGEL UNIVERSITY VALOR ### Meanwhile the CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY EAGLES won a 28-27 thriller at the WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN ### And the HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS edged their hosts the BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY CHARGERS by a count of 24-23.
TRAVELING OREDIGGERS – The MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS took it on the road against the MONTANA STATE-NORTHERN LIGHTS. The Lights were out in front 7-6 in the 1st Quarter but the Orediggers went up 20-7 by the Half. Montana State-Northern cut that to 20-13 to end the 3rd Quarter before Montana Tech won it in the 4th, 23-13.
CATS AND BIRDS – The CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS welcomed the INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS. The Cardinals led 14-0 in the opening Quarter but the Wildcats knotted things up at 14-14 going into Halftime. After the break Concordia U outscored Indiana Wesleyan 14-7 for a 28-21 victory.
ROAD KNIGHTS – In this game the KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS visited the UNION COLLEGE BULLDOGS. By the midpoint the Bulldogs were on top 7-3 and 14-10 to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th the Knights came from behind to win the game 25-21.
SHOOTOUT IN ARIZONA – The OTTAWA UNIVERSITY (AZ) SPIRIT took the field against the visiting ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM. Points flew like shrapnel as the Spirit led the Firestorm 14-7 in the 1st Quarter, 31-14 at the Half and 31-21 in the 3rd. Ottawa University put it away in the 4th with a 52-34 triumph.
HOME STANDS – The SAINT AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES took on the TRINITY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TROJANS and defeated them 49-28 ### And the SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS led the ARKANSAS BAPTIST COLLEGE BUFFALOES by just 13-6 at the break but won the game 50-6.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – This game pitted the AVILA UNIVERSITY EAGLES (formerly the Avalanche) against their hosts the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS. The Warriors were on top 21-17 come Halftime but the Eagles/ Avalanche went up 27-24 in the 3rd Quarter before winning it 34-31.

WHEN RANKED TEAMS CLASH – The number 17 ITHACA COLLEGE BOMBERS played host to the 21st ranked HOBART COLLEGE STATESMEN. The Bombers led 14-7 at the midpoint but the Statesmen tied the score at 21-21 in the 3rd Quarter. From there Ithaca College won the game 28-21.
PUTTING IN OVERTIME – The GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY PANTHERS traveled to face the MARTIN LUTHER UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS and defeated them 21-14 in the extra session ### Meanwhile the MANCHESTER UNIVERSITY SPARTANS won a 27-24 OT affair at the FRANKLIN COLLEGE GRIZZLIES ### And the WABASH COLLEGE LITTLE GIANTS managed a 39-38 OT win at the DENISON UNIVERSITY BIG RED.
