APPALACHIAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
DAY ONE, GAME ONE – The 5 seeds – the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS – took the diamond against the 4th seeded REINHARDT UNIVERSITY EAGLES (Should be the Rottweilers). After a scoreless 1st Inning the Skyhawks went on top 4-0 in the 2nd.
That became a 7-0 lead in the 4th Inning, 8-0 in the 5th and 10-0 in the 7th. Point University completely embarrassed the Eagles 10-0 with Pitcher Eduardo Munoz on the Mound for the entire game.
DAY ONE, GAME TWO – The 6th seeded UNION COLLEGE BULLDOGS played the 3 seeds – the TRUETT MCCONNELL UNIVERSITY BEARS. Neither team scored in the opening Inning, with the Bears taking a 1-0 edge in the 2nd.
The 4th Inning saw the Bulldogs knot things up at 1-1, and the 6th ended with Union College on top 4-3. The Bulldogs added 2 more Runs in the 7th Inning and rode them to a 6-3 Upset victory. A.J. Villa pitched 9 Iron Man Innings for the winners.
AMERICAN MIDWEST CONFERENCE
DAY ONE, GAME ONE – In this game the 5 seeds – the CENTRAL BAPTIST COLLEGE MUSTANGS – did battle with the 4th seeded LYON COLLEGE SCOTS. After the Scots took a 2-1 lead in the 1st Inning the game settled into a Pitcher’s Duel.
Neither team scored again until the 7th, when Lyon College drove in 3 more Runs for a 5-1 advantage. The Mustangs’ bats came alive in the 9th Inning to win the game 7-5. Dylan Crossley pitched for the Save.
DAY ONE, GAME TWO – The 2nd seeded COLUMBIA (MO) COLLEGE COUGARS clashed with the 7 seeds – the HARRIS-STOWE STATE HORNETS. A 2-2 1st Inning tie became a 5-3 Cougars lead by the 3rd.
Columbia College added Runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th Innings for a healthy 9-3 advantage. In the 9th the Hornets could muster just 2 additional runs as the Cougars won it by a final tally of 9-5. Pitcher Josiah Imhoff logged the W.
