DOWN GOES NUMBER TWO – The GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS welcomed the number 2 team in the nation – the WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN. The Vikings put the Statesmen on Upset Alert with a 29-28 edge at Halftime. William Penn U came back to force Overtime with a 62-62 tie to end Regulation. In OT the Vikings managed a 73-69 triumph led by Jordan Brunkow’s 29 points.
AND NUMBER THREE COMES TUMBLING AFTER – In this Upset the HARRIS-STOWE STATE HORNETS played host to the country’s 3rd ranked MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS. This defensive epic saw the Hornets on top 33-22 at the break before the Spartans knotted things up 57-57 by game’s end. The 1st OT ended in a 63-63 tie but in the SECOND OVERTIME Harris-Stowe State won it 74-70. Nate Rigmaiden led the way with 29 points.
OTHER UPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – The LSU-SHREVEPORT PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) knocked off the visiting (13) WILEY (TX) WILDCATS in a 94-90 shootout ### Meanwhile the GRACELAND UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS edged the (17) PERU STATE BOBCATS 74-72 ### And the OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE STATE AGGIES (should be the Okies) downed the (20) USAO DROVERS 84-83 in their own house.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 points or more in Regulation: The top-ranked LSU-ALEXANDRIA GENERALS spanked the JARVIS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS to the tune of 106-83 ### The (5) MASTER’S UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS put up 100 points to the 86 scored by the (21) ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM ### And the (8) LANGSTON UNIVERSITY LIONS won a 100-59 mangling of their hosts the SOUTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES.
WORKIN’ OVERTIME – The (9) VANGUARD UNIVERSITY LIONS took it on the road against the SAN DIEGO CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FALCONS. An explosive 1st Half ended in a 42-42 deadlock followed by an 80-80 tie to end Regulation. In the extra session the Lions outscored the Falcons 12-10 for a 92-90 victory. Geremy McKay tossed in 23 points to lead Vanguard U.

UNLUCKY THIRTEEN FALLS – The only Upset in the NAIA Division Two rankings yesterday came when the KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS visited the 13th ranked SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE. In a tale of two Halves the Fire were scorching the Seahawks 42-24 at the midpoint but after the break Keiser University turned the tables for a 69-66 triumph. Andrija Matic’s 18 points led the victors.
CENTURY CLUB – The (8) SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE MOUNDBUILDERS eviscerated the MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS 114-69 ### Meanwhile the SIMPSON COLLEGE REDHAWKS folded, spindled and mutilated the NORTHWEST INDIAN COLLEGE EAGLES 127-80 ### The FLORIDA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY ROYALS won a 101-100 thriller at the COLLEGE OF COASTAL GEORGIA MARINERS ### And the (15) INDIANA EAST UNIVERSITY RED WOLVES clubbed the BRESCIA UNIVERSITY BEARCATS 106-69.
WORKIN’ OVERTIME – The OTTAWA UNIVERSITY BRAVES welcomed the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS for this game. The Braves allowed a 45-39 Halftime advantage to turn into an 85-85 tie to end Regulation. In Overtime Ottawa University defeated the Warriors by a score of 105-97. Isaiah Palmer led the Braves with 28 points.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The THOMAS UNIVERSITY NIGHT HAWKS won a 70-62 hardcourt grudge match against the visiting SAINT THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS ### And the YORK (NE) PANTHERS emerged victorious over their hosts the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT MARY SPIRES by a final score of 77-75.
ROAD WARRIORS – The KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES won a 60-56 thriller against the home-standing AVILA UNIVERSITY EAGLES (formerly the Avalanche) ### And the WEST VIRGINIA TECH GOLDEN BEARS defeated their hosts the CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Bridgers) 93-80.
