COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER 6th

NCAA DIVISION TWO 

Missouri WesternNUMBER EIGHT TAKES A FALL – The MISSOURI WESTERN STATE GRIFFONS welcomed the number 8 team in the nation – the FORT HAYS STATE TIGERS. The Griffons grabbed a 7-0 1st Quarter lead but by Halftime the Tigers had knotted things up at 7-7. After the break Missouri Western State outscored Fort Hays State 16-7 for a 23-13 Upset victory.

IUP Crimson HawksRANKED TEAMS ROLLING – The (4) INDIANA UNIVERSITY-PENNSYLVANIA CRIMSON HAWKS tore apart the visiting MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY MARAUDERS 41-7   ###    Meanwhile the (5) NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE BEARCATS notched a 38-17 road rout of the WASHBURN UNIVERSITY ICHABODS   ###   And the (10) UNIVERSITY OF WEST ALABAMA TIGERS defeated the MILES COLLEGE GOLDEN BEARS in a 37-21 affair.

Pittsburg State Gorillas“GORILLA” WARFARE – The 17th ranked PITTSBURG (KS) STATE GORILLAS traveled to face the EMPORIA STATE HORNETS last night. The Gorillas trailed the Hornets 7-3 in the 1st Quarter and 13-10 at the break. After tying things up 13-13 to end the 3rd Quarter Pitt State exploded in the 4th for a 34-13 triumph.

Central MissouriONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – In this game the number 21 UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES played host to the NORTHEASTERN STATE RIVERHAWKS and proceeded to make the visitors their prison brides. When all was said and done the Mules had eviscerated the Riverhawks SIXTY-TWO to TEN!  

Nebraska-KearneyUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA AT KEARNEY LOPERS found themselves on the road against the UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA BRONCHOS (sic). The Lopers won in a 31-27 thriller.   ###   And the WEST LIBERTY STATE HILLTOPPERS snuck past the visiting WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY BOBCATS 37-34.   

Northern State Wolves helmetFORTY-TWO FOR THE WIN – Last night the NORTHERN STATE WOLVES mauled and devoured their guests the MINOT STATE BEAVERS to the tune of 42-16   ###    And the CHARLESTON (WV) UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES doubled up on the home-standing CONCORD UNIVERSITY MOUNTAIN LIONS 42-21.

Holmes College Bulldogs helmetAND ANOTHER NUMBER EIGHT GOES DOWN – It was not a lucky night for teams ranked 8th. The HOLMES COLLEGE BULLDOGS were on the road at the NJCAA’s number 8 JONES COUNTY COLLEGE BOBCATS. The Bulldogs trailed the Bobcats 14-12 at Halftime and 17-12 in the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Holmes College went up 18-17 and Jones County then grabbed a 23-18 lead before the Bulldogs pulled off a 25-23 Upset.  

East Central Warriors helmetKNOCKING OFF NUMBER FOURTEEN – Another Upset last night came in the game pitting the EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE WARRIORS against the home-standing 14th ranked ITAWAMBA COLLEGE INDIANS. The Warriors led the Indians 27-7 at the Half but then had to hold on by their fingernails for a 34-28 victory.

East Mississippi College Lions helmet profileTOP FIVE TEAMS ON A TEAR – The top ranked defending National Champions – the EAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE LIONS – thoroughly manhandled their hosts the PEARL RIVER COLLEGE WILDCATS by a score of 59-10   ###    And the number 5 NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE RANGERS won handily 51-6 at the SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE BEARS.

Hinds College eagles good helmetHAPPY HINDS HOMESTAND – The HINDS COLLEGE EAGLES took the field against the MISSISSIPPI DELTA COLLEGE TROJANS last night. The Eagles led 14-0, 21-0 and 28-0 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters respectively. The Trojans finally decided to play in the 4th Quarter but it was too late as Hinds College won the game 31-21.

Copiah Lincoln WolfpackROAD WARRIORS – The traveling COPIAH-LINCOLN COLLEGE WOLFPACK and the NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE TIGERS were scoreless at Halftime before the Wolfpack seized a 21-7 win   ###    And the MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COLLEGE BULLDOGS mauled their hosts the COAHOMA COLLEGE TIGERS in a 46-21 rout.
