Adam Ant 4“Adam Ant IS Roy Thinnes in Jared Martin: A One-Man Show.”

… Had to be said.

At any rate Adam Ant (Stuart Leslie Goddard) is still the current subject in Balladeer’s Blog’s “Give Them A Shoutout Before They’re Dead” category.

The link below is to Adam’s version of the Doors’ hit Hello, I Love You.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy it!

  1. amazing what make-up can do for the individual. seeing adam ant on a television show and in videos, well, two different looking persons. the videos he looks larger than life, chiseled in tv show just an ordinary guy. amazing

  2. I just happened to be listening to the “Friend Or Foe” album yesterday as I worked on a remodeling project. I always liked The Doors original version of “Hello, I Love You”, which is a lot of song packed into two minutes and thirteen seconds. In my opinion, Adam Ant’s version is not nearly as powerful or energetic, but is a fun, playful remake. I always enjoy it when a band that does mostly original work tries their hand at paying tribute to another artist’s song. I enjoy the more laid back vocals and Marco Pirroni’s variance of the familiar guitar riff. I think they did the song justice.

    • Excellent call! I agree, especially regarding the word “fun.” It’s not trying to outdo the Doors’ version, just be fun. I’ve always been surprised that neither Adam nor Marco seem to get their proper due.
