THREE COLLEGE BASKETBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS CROWNED

*** USCAA DIVISION ONE ***

Concordia (AL) LogoNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 2nd seeded CONCORDIA (AL) COLLEGE HORNETS and the 4 seeds – the ILLINOIS TECH SCARLET HAWKS – battled for the title in Division One of the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association).

The Scarlet Hawks ended the 1st Half on top of the Hornets 33-27 but Concordia College made with one of their patented comebacks. In the end the Hornets took the crown by a final score of 61-51. Dennis Miles led Concordia with a Double Double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. * THE HORNETS ARE CHAMPIONS OF USCAA DIVISION ONE *  

*** USCAA DIVISION TWO ***

Berkeley (NJ) KnightsNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – It took Overtime to determine a winner in this hardcourt clash. The top seeded BERKELEY (NY) COLLEGE KNIGHTS were going for history with a 3rd straight national title in D2. Standing in their way were the Cinderella 6 seeds – the PENN STATE AT YORK LIONS.

The Knights seemed on their way with a 43-34 Halftime lead but the Lions forced Overtime by way of a 69-69 tie to end Regulation. In the extra session Berkeley College outscored PSU-York 11-7 for an 80-76 victory and a Threepeat. Massiah Merritt’s 28 points led the champs. * THE KNIGHTS ARE CHAMPIONS OF USCAA DIVISION TWO *  

*** ACCA ***

Rhema Bible College EaglesNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The top seeds – the RHEMA BIBLE COLLEGE EAGLES – took the court against the 3rd seeded TRINITY BIBLE COLLEGE LIONS for the crown of the ACCA (Association of Christian College Athletics).

The Eagles were clinging to a 39-38 edge over the Lions at the Half. From there Rhema Bible College countered every Trinity Bible College run with a bigger one of their own, going on to win the game 89-81.  * THE EAGLES ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE ACCA * (There are no longer two separate divisions of the ACCA)
