CALIFORNIA PACIFIC CONFERENCE – The CAL-MARITIME ACADEMY KEELHAULERS were once again the top seeds in the Cal-Pac Tournament and in yesterday’s semi-finals they battled the 4 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT MERCED GOLDEN BOBCATS. The Keelhaulers moved on to the title game with a 65-55 win. ### And the 2nd seeded LA SIERRA UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES wound up bouncing the 3rd seeded SIMPSON UNIVERSITY RED HAWKS by a tight final score of 87-81.
CROSSROADS LEAGUE – SEMIFINALS – The 2 seeds – the INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS – just a few years away from their last National Championship, led the 3rd seeded BETHEL (IN) COLLEGE PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) 57-46 at Halftime enroute to a Century Club-level 104-91 victory. ### Meanwhile the top seeded UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS and the 4th seeded GOSHEN COLLEGE MAPLE LEAFS were tied at 35-35 by the break. In the fierce 2nd Half the Cougars went on to win the game by a tight score of 80-76.
APPALACHIAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 2nd seeded UNION (KY) COLLEGE BULLDOGS and the 5 seeds – the BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS faced each other for the AAC title yesterday. The Rambling Rams had managed upsets in the Quarter-Finals and the Semi-Finals but their luck ran out against the Bulldogs. Union College won the game 71-57. Along the way the Bulldogs also defeated Montreat College and Reinhardt University. * THE BULLDOGS ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE AAC TOURNAMENT *
ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT INSTITUTIONS – SEMIFINALS – The top seeds in this conference – the MOUNT MERCY UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS – took the court against the 5th seeded CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE OF KANSAS TIGERS. The Mustangs advanced to the championship game with a 74-68 triumph. ### And in the 3 spot the YORK (NE) COLLEGE PANTHERS barely managed to sneak by the 7th seeded WASHINGTON ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY SHOCK by a score of 81-80.
CASCADE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE – SEMIFINALS – The First Semifinal found the top seeded NORTHWEST CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY BEACONS facing the 5th seeded OREGON TECH HUSTLIN’ OWLS. This was a defensive epic as the Beacons led the Hustlin’ Owls 26-12 at Halftime on their way to a 74-57 win. ### And the Second Semifinal pitted the (3) WARNER PACIFIC COLLEGE KNIGHTS against the (2) SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY RAIDERS. The Knights put SOU on upset alert by Halftime with a 43-32 lead, then went on to win the game by a score of 97-80.
CHICAGOLAND COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – SEMIFINALS – Upsets were the name of the game in this conference’s semifinals. The 7th seeded INDIANA UNIVERSITY AT SOUTH BEND TITANS toppled the 3 seeds – the SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS – in a 71-69 Instant Classic. ### And the 4 seeds – the ROBERT MORRIS (IL) EAGLES – took down the conference’s top seeded UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS in a 99-87 affair.
GREAT PLAINS ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – SEMIFINALS – For the second game in a row the 2nd seeded NEBRASKA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY PRAIRIE WOLVES entered the Century Club, this time by putting up 102 points to the 91 scored by their opponents, the 3rd seeded DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY TIGERS. ### And the top seeds – the BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY CHARGERS – won an incredibly thrilling 81-76 game against the 4th seeded MIDLAND UNIVERSITY WARRIORS.
KANSAS COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – SEMIFINALS – The 2 seeds in this conference – the SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE MOUNDBUILDERS – engaged in a roundball rumble with the 3rd seeded UNIVERSITY OF SAINT MARY (KS) SPIRES. The Moundbuilders advanced to the title game with a nailbiting 89-87 victory. ### And the top seeded TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS will face the Moundbuilders for the title after defeating the 5th seeded FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS by a final tally of 89-87.
NORTH STAR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION – SEMIFINALS – The 4th seeded UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES took on the top seeded VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS. The Jimmies laid down the law in the 1st Half, leading 48-29 by the break. In the 2nd Half they kept the Vikings at arm’s length for a 94-75 win. ### And the 3 seeds – the DAKOTA STATE TROJANS led the 7th seeded MAYVILLE STATE COMETS 44-34 at Halftime before going on to win the game 84-72.
WOLVERINE- HOOSIER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – SEMIFINALS – The WHAC Tournament has been all chalk and that continued yesterday as the top seeds – the DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY PANTHERS – faced the 4th seeded AQUINAS COLLEGE SAINTS. The Panthers moved on to the championship game with a 67-56 win. ### And the 2nd seeded CORNERSTONE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES – the defending national champions – eliminated the 3rd seeded INDIANA TECH WARRIORS in a 90-65 blowout.
