CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this division’s World Series were the TYLER COLLEGE APACHES and the JOLIET COLLEGE WOLVES. After a scoreless 1st Inning the Apaches seized a 3-0 lead in the 2nd. That became a 4-2 lead in the 4th Inning, 7-6 in the 5th and 9-6 in the 6th. Tyler College added 1 more run in the 7th while the Wolves logged 3 of their own. That ended the scoring, however, and the Apaches won this game for the ages by a count of 10-9. DAY SIX – There was only one game in the NAIA College World Series yesterday as the 4th seeded LEWIS-CLARK STATE WARRIORS and the 2 seeds – the FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Furies) vied for the opportunity to face St Thomas (FL) University for the championship. The Eagles were on top 5-0 by the 2nd Inning but the Warriors cut it to a 5-4 edge in the 3rd. The 4th Inning ended in a 7-7 tie and the final scoring was in the 7th as Faulkner University notched 1 more run and Lewis- Clark State put up 3. The final tally was Warriors 10 Eagles 8. Beau Kerns was the winning Pitcher.

DAY SIX – The UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA SPARTANS took the diamond against the HENDERSON STATE REDDIES in the only D2 game yesterday. The Spartans drove in 1 run each in the 1st, 3rd and 4th Innings while both teams scored 2 runs in the 6th. The University of Tampa moved on to the championship game by a score of 5-2. Brad Hencke threw for the win.

DAY SIX – GAME ONE – Getting the day started in this division were the WALTERS STATE SENATORS and the CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COLLEGE PIRATES. The Senators went out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st Inning only to see the Pirates take a 4-2 lead in the 2nd. That became a 4-4 tie and then a 7-5 advantage for Walters State in the 4th Inning. The Senators’ bats never cooled off from there as they went on to eliminate Chattahoochee Valley College to the tune of 14-6. Colton Provey was the victorious Pitcher.
DAY SIX – GAME TWO – Closing out the day in NJCAA1 baseball was a contest between the MCLENNAN COLLEGE HIGHLANDERS and the NORTHWEST FLORIDA STATE RAIDERS. A 1-0 1st Inning lead for the Highlanders became a 2-1 edge in the 3rd. McLennan College shut out the Raiders from there while notching additional runs for themselves in the 5th and 6th Innings. The Highlanders rode those runs to a 5-1 victory over Northwest Florida State. Pitcher Jack Finnegan was credited with the win.

DAY SIX – GAME ONE – This game pitted the CATAWBA VALLEY COLLEGE RED HAWKS against the FREDERICK COLLEGE COUGARS. Neither team scored in the 1st Inning but in the 2nd the Red Hawks went up 4-0 and made it 6-0 in the 3rd. The Cougars were never really in the game as a 10-1 4th Inning lead for Catawba Valley College ultimately became an ELEVEN to ONE beatdown.
DAY SIX – GAME TWO – Up next was a clash between the UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT AT AVERY POINT POINTERS and the KELLOGG COLLEGE BRUINS. A 5-0 Bruins lead in the 1st Inning became a 5-3 game in the 3rd and a 6-5 edge for the Pointers in the 4th. The shootout continued from there with UCONN at Avery Point winning in the end by a polo score of 12-10.
DAY SIX – GAME THREE – The final game of the day saw the WESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE PIONEERS face the LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY AT EUNICE BENGALS. A 1-0 1st Inning lead for the Pioneers was converted into a 1-1 tie when the Bengals scored in the 3rd. LSU-Eunice then went on top 2-1 in the 4th Inning but Western Oklahoma State knotted the game back up at 2-2 in the top of the 7th. In the top of the TENTH Inning a wild pitch allowed the Pioneers to score 3 runs, resulting in a 5-2 triumph.
