AMERICAN MIDWEST CONFERENCE – The top seeded MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS advanced to the title game by eliminating the 4th seeded FREED HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY LIONS by a score of 4-2   ###   And in the second game the 3rd seeded WILLIAM WOODS UNIVERSITY OWLS mauled and mangled the Spartans in a 10-0 laugher. Along the way the Owls also defeated Park University and Lyon College.   ***   CONGRATULATIONS TO THE OWLS, THE AMC CHAMPS FOR 2014. 

ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT INSTITUTIONS – The Cinderella 6 seeds – the HOUSTON- VICTORIA JAGUARS – continued dancing their way through the opening game yesterday by shocking the 2nd seeded LSU- ALEXANDRIA GENERALS  4-1   ###   But in the championship game that followed midnight finally struck in the form of the top seeded GEORGIA GWINNETT COLLEGE GRIZZLIES who smacked the Jaguars back down to Earth ELEVEN to NOTHING. Along the way the Grizzlies also beat Fisher (MA) and LSU- Alexandria.   ***   CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GRIZZLIES, THE AII CHAMPS FOR 2014.  

HEART OF AMERICA ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – In a true catfight the 4th seeded CULVER- STOCKTON COLLEGE WILDCATS upset the 3rd seeded PERU STATE BOBCATS in a 10-3 spanking   ###   Next came the title game where the top seeded MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY PIONEERS defeated the Wildcats 4-1 to take the crown. Along the way the Pioneers also defeated Benedictine College and Peru  State.   ***   CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PIONEERS, THE HAAC CHAMPS FOR 2014. 

SOONER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The top seeded OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON came into yesterday’s title game undefeated in tourney play. The 2nd seeded OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY STARS already had one loss to their name, so the Stars needed to beat the Bison twice to win the championship. OBU would have none of it, hammering the Stars in an embarrassing 19-5 outcome. Along the way the Bison also beat MidAmerica Christian University, University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and Wayland Baptist University.   ***   CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BISON, THE SAC CHAMPS FOR 2014. 

THE SUN CONFERENCE – The 2nd seeded SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE squared off against the top seeded EMBRY- RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY EAGLES for the Sun Conference crown. The Fire gave the Eagles (whom I still say should change their name to the Aeronauts) their second loss of the tourney in a 3-0 nailbiter. Along the way the Fire also defeated Webber International University and St Thomas University.   ***   CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FIRE, THE SUN CONFERENCE CHAMPS FOR 2014. 

FRONTIER CONFERENCE/ NORTHSTAR CONFERENCE COMBINE – This conference’s championship game also came down to the top two seeds. The top seeded JAMESTOWN COLLEGE JIMMIES defeated the 2nd seeded MAYVILLE STATE COMETS for the second time in as many days yesterday, this time in a 6-5 game for the ages. Along the way the Jimmies also beat Presentation College and Dakota State University.   ***   CONGRATULATIONS TO THE JIMMIES, THE FC/NC CHAMPS FOR 2014. 

APPALACHIAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – Day One for the AAC tournament saw the 7th seeded MILLIGAN COLLEGE BUFFALOES rise up and drag down the 2nd seeded REINHARDT UNIVERSITY EAGLES in a 6-5 Instant Classic   ###   The 6th seeded POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS notched a 7-2 upset of their own over the 3 seeds – the UNION (KY) BULLDOGS   ###   The upsets kept coming as the 5th seeded BRYAN COLLEGE LIONS defeated the 4th seeded ST ANDREWS UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS 4-3 in a THIRTEEN INNING marathon   ###   And the top seeded TENNESSEE WESLEYAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS proved favorites can still win by pounding the 8th seeded VIRGINIA INTERMONT COLLEGE COBRAS  8-3. 

CHICAGOLAND COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The 3rd seeded TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS stayed alive by trouncing the top seeded ST FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS  12-3   ###   Meanwhile the 5 seeds – the HOLY CROSS (IN) COLLEGE SAINTS eliminated the 6th seeded OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS in a 6-5 thriller   ###   And the 2nd seeded JUDSON UNIVERSITY EAGLES topped the 4th seeded ST XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS by a score of 6-2.  

CROSSROADS LEAGUE – In the 2 spot the TAYLOR UNIVERSITY TROJANS decimated the 6th seeded INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY WILDCATS in an 11-0 elimination game   ###  The 5th seeded ST FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS bounced the 8th seeded GRACE COLLEGE LANCERS  4-3   ###   The top seeded MT VERNON NAZARENE UNIVERSITY COUGARS beat the 4th seeded HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY FORESTERS by a score of 8-3   ###   The 7th seeded MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS were crushed by the 3rd seeded SPRING ARBOR UNIVERSITY COUGARS  11-1   ###   Then the (4) Foresters eliminated the (5) Cougars 8-5 and the 2 Trojans sent the (7) Knights home with a THIRTEEN to NOTHING loss. 

MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE – The top seeded GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS defeated the 4th seeded SHAWNEE STATE BEARS by a score of 7-3   ###   The 2nd seeded CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS spanked the 3rd seeded ST CATHARINE COLLEGE PATRIOTS  12-0   ###   Next the 6th seeded BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS lost an 8-1 elimination game to the (4) Bears   ###   And the (3) Patriots stayed alive by bouncing the 5th seeded CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS in a 4-3 epic of the diamond.  

MIDWEST COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE – The 2nd seeded AIB COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EAGLES won a pair of games yesterday. First they won a 13-11 orgy of offense to eliminate the 5th seeded GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS   ###   Then they clubbed the top seeded VITERBO UNIVERSITY V-HAWKS 10-4 to force a decisive game on Tuesday. 

WOLVERINE- HOOSIER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The 4th seeded MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS edged the 5th seeded AQUINAS COLLEGE SAINTS by a score of 3-2   ###   The 3 seeds – the INDIANA TECH WARRIORS – eviscerated the 6th seeded CONCORDIA (MI) CARDINALS  15-4   ###   Then the top seeded DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY PANTHERS won a 4-2 clash with the (4) Crusaders   ###   And the 2nd seeded UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO RACERS were upset by the (3) Warriors in a 3-0 shutout.
