FIRST TICKET PUNCHED TO THE NAIA NATIONAL COLLEGE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT

Kentucky IntercollegiateThe Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball tournament for 2014 came to an explosive end yesterday with a guaranteed berth in the NAIA national tournament on the line.

The top seeded POINT PARK UNIVERSITY PIONEERS squared off against the 3rd seeded INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS in this title game.  

The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st Inning. That lead held up until the Grenadiers tied the game in the 5th. Point Park University added one run each in the 7th and 8th Innings for a 3-1 victory and the KIAC Crown. PPU’s Alex Matteo did an Iron Man pitching turn for all 9 Innings to log the win.
