COLLEGE BASKETBALL RESULTS FROM FEBRUARY 1st

COUGARS PREVAIL AT HOME – The UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS COUGARS welcomed the BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY BEAVERS yesterday. The Cougars were beating up on the Beavers in the First Half and led by a score of 41-29 at Halftime but the Second Half became a different story. Bemidji State came roaring back (do beavers roar?) and actually outscored the homestanding USF in the Second Half but the Cougars held on to win by a final score of 87-78.

FRESNO PACIFIC WITH THE UPSET – The FRESNO PACIFIC UNIVERSITY SUNBIRDS upset the HOLY NAMES UNIVERSITY HAWKS and did it on the road no less! The Sunbirds (love that name) were in control from start to finish in this game and had compiled a 32-23 lead by the break. The Second Half saw FPU pour on the offense even more and when all the dust had finally settled the Sunbirds went back home with an 84-66 victory. 

CENTURY CLUB – The WHEELING JESUIT UNIVERSITY CARDINALS were shooting like a dream yesterday and converted a 52-35 lead at the break into a 103-84 final score in their win over the visiting WEST VIRGINIA STATE YELLOW JACKETS   ###   Meanwhile the LIVINGSTONE COLLEGE BLUE BEARS put up 101 points to the 94 scored by the WINSTON SALEM STATE RAMS   ###   And the WEST LIBERTY UNIVERSITY HILLTOPPERS smacked down their guests the UNIVERSITY OF CHARLESTON GOLDEN EAGLES to the tune of 103-71.      

WORKING OVERTIME – The UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH AT JOHNSTOWN MOUNTAIN CATS and the EDINBORO UNIVERSITY FIGHTING SCOTS were tied up by a score of 37 apiece at Halftime and 72 apiece at the end of Regulation. In the Overtime session the Mountain Cats emerged with a 91-82 triumph.   ###   The ARMSTRONG ATLANTIC STATE PIRATES came storming back in the 2nd Half to tie the UNC-PEMBROKE BRAVES 73-73. In OT the Pirates cosummated the comeback by taking home a tight 84-83 win.   ###   The ADAMS STATE GRIZZLIES went from an 81-all tie to a 97-95 Overtime victory against the FORT LEWIS SKYHAWKS   ###   And the FT HAYS STATE TIGERS blew a 43-29 lead over the WASHBURN ICHABODS but prevailed in OT by a final score of 87-85. 

UNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The ROBERTS WESLEYAN COLLEGE REDHAWKS played host to the NEW YORK TECH BEARS and came back from a 32-26 Halftime deficit to win a 68-66 nailbiter   ###   Meanwhile the PACE UNIVERSITY SETTERS held on to defeat the visiting BENTLEY FALCONS by a score of 65-62   ###   And the LAKE SUPERIOR STATE LAKERS notched a hard-fought 79-78 road win over a the MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES.
