COLLEGE BASKETBALL RESULTS FROM JANUARY 10th AND 11th

Environ Science and Forestry Mighty OaksTHE MIGHTY OAKS RULE THE WORLD – The COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND FORESTRY out of the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association) traveled to take on the NCAA’s ALFRED STATE PIONEERS. At Halftime the upstart Mighty Oaks led 43-39 but by the end of regulation the Pioneers had tied it all up at 75 apiece. The score stood at 85-85 at the end of the first Overtime but the second Overtime ended with the Mighty Oaks eking out a 96-95 upset win.

Amherst Lord Jeffs logoTOP 25 UPSETS – The 8th ranked AMHERST COLLEGE LORD JEFFS welcomed their archrivals, the number 5 WILLIAMS COLLEGE EPHS (“eephs”) and wound up toppling them 84-73. The Lord Jeffs led 44-35 at the Half and stayed in control in the 2nd Half   ###   The WHEATON (IL) THUNDER took the 12th ranked AUGUSTANA COLLEGE VIKINGS into Overtime before pulling off a 66-63 upset   ###   Also in Overtime the PSU-HARRISBURG LIONS brought down the number 14 CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT UNIVERSITY CAPTAINS by a score of 63-60   ###   The MONTCLAIR STATE REDHAWKS managed a 70-69 squeaker win over the (23) RICHARD STOCKTON OSPREYS   ### And the SPRINGFIELD PRIDE notched an 89-81 road win in Overtime against the (25) BABSON BEAVERS.

lcsc_logo1CENTURY CLUB – NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) – The LEWIS-CLARK STATE COLLEGE WARRIORS logged a 100-89 road victory over the ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS   ###   The YORK (NE) PANTHERS meanwhile took down the OZARK CHRISTIAN COLLEGE AMBASSADORS in their own house 111-96   ###   And the ST CATHARINE COLLEGE PATRIOTS went on the road and defeated the defending champions, the GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS by a score of 103-90.  

New York Tech WildcatsCENTURY CLUB – NCAA DIVISION 3 – The NEW YORK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY WILDCATS were on the road against the SARAH LAWRENCE COLLEGE GRYPHONS and converted a 49-28 Halftime lead into a 105-69 buttkicking.   ###   And in a case of Pioneer on Pioneer violence the GRINNELL COLLEGE PIONEERS scored 105 points to the 95 put up by the visiting CARROLL COLLEGE PIONEERS.    

Brevard College TitansCENTURY CLUB – NJCAA DIVISION ONE – The ST PETERSBURG COLLEGE TITANS clobbered the IMPACT ACADEMY OF ARTS & TECHNOLOGY SPARTANS by a score of 100-55   ###   The USC-SALKEHATCHIE INDIANS notched a 110-72 beatdown of the SOUTH CAROLINA SPORTS ACADEMY STORM   ###   Meanwhile the MALCOLM X COLLEGE HAWKS defeated the HARRY S TRUMAN COLLEGE FALCONS 101-77   ###   And the LAKE LAND COLLEGE LAKERS were on the road against the SOUTHEASTERN ILLINOIS COLLEGE FALCONS and handed them a 100-82 loss. 

OCC136ElectricE divideCENTURY CLUB – NJCAA DIVISION TWO – The OWENS COLLEGE EXPRESS put up 104 points to the 34 scored by the visiting AKRON ZIPS   ###   The CINCINATTI STATE SURGE eviscerated the CUYAHOGA COLLEGE CHALLENGERS by a score of 116-54   ###   And the OAKLAND COLLEGE RAIDERS played road warriors by defeating the ST CLAIR COLLEGE SKIPPERS in a 119-112 Instant Classic. 

Brookdale College Jersey BluesCENTURY CLUB – NJCAA DIVISION THREE – The BROOKDALE COLLEGE JERSEY BLUES, the defending champions of NJCAA3 basketball smacked around the homestanding GATEWAY (CT) LIONS to the tune of 101-68   ###   Meanwhile the EASTFIELD COLLEGE HARVESTERS, the 2013 runners-up in NJCAA3 hoops were on the road against the BROOKHAVEN COLLEGE BEARS and topped them by a final score of 118-115   ###   And the VERMILION COLLEGE IRONMEN logged a 104-65 road beat-down of the RAINY RIVER COLLEGE VOYAGEURS.   

Goucher GophersMARATHON GAMES OF THE DAY – The GOUCHER COLLEGE GOPHERS traveled to take on the MORAVIAN COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS and despite trailing 41-30 at Halftime the Gophers tied up the game at 66-all by the end of regulation. After THREE Overtime periods Goucher College at last emerged with a 91-90 victory over the Greyhounds.   ###   And the KANKAKEE COLLEGE CAVALIERS likewise battled the visiting HIGHLAND (IL) COLLEGE COUGARS through THREE Overtimes themselves before logging a 95-92 win.  

Old Westbury PanthersTHEY LOVE THE NINETIES – The OLD WESTBURY PANTHERS welcomed the MT ST VINCENT DOLPHINS and sent them home with a 95-77 loss   ###   The MAINE-FARMINGTON BEAVERS took it on the road against the NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE PILGRIMS and defeated them 90-67   ###   The HILBERT COLLEGE HAWKS meanwhile topped the MT ALOYSIUS MOUNTIES 97-84   ###   And the WILLIAM PEACE UNIVERSITY PACERS parlayed a 47-36 lead at the break into a 91-70 victory over the JOHNSON & WALES (NC) WILDCATS. 

calmaritimekeelhaulersVARYING DEGREES OF DOUBLE DIGITS – The CAL MARITIME ACADEMY KEELHAULERS won a 66-53 affair at the UC-SANTA CRUZ BANANA SLUGS   ###      Meanwhile the CARTHAGE COLLEGE RED MEN beat the visiting NORTH CENTRAL CARDINALS by a score of 65-51   ###   And the SOUTHERN VERMONT MOUNTAINEERS defeated the homestanding LESLEY UNIVERSITY LYNX 83-62.     

Massachusetts CollegeUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The MASSACHUSETTS COLLEGE TRAILBLAZERS were on the road against the WORCESTER STATE LANCERS and came back from a 35-32 Halftime deficit to win by a final score of 83-77.   ###   The SCHREINER UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS won a 65-62 nailbiter at the TRINITY (TX) TIGERS.   ###   The NEW YORK UNIVERSITY VIOLETS overruled the BRANDEIS JUDGES by a score of 64-58   ###   And the PRINCIPIA COLLEGE PANTHERS kept the BLACKBURN BEAVERS winless by edging them in a 66-65 road affair. 

XAVIERLATHRILLER FROM THE GOLD RUSH – The XAVIER (LA) GOLD RUSH have now won 8 of their last 9 with their comeback victory over the SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY OF NEW ORLEANS KNIGHTS. The Gold Rush clung to a slim 30-29 lead at Halftime but trailed by 54-50 with 5:15 left in the game. From there XULA decided to take control and by the time all was said and done in the game the final score was Gold Rush 60  Knights 55.

Oneonta State Red DragonsROAD WARRIORS – The ONEONTA STATE RED DRAGONS took it on the road against the NEW PALTZ STATE HAWKS and despite trailing at the Half by a score of 42-36 came back to win the game 80-75.   ###   The AURORA SPARTANS eked out a 91-90 road win over the WISCONSIN LUTHERAN COLLEGE WARRIORS   ###   And the GORDON FIGHTING SCOTS edged the SALVE REGINA SEAHAWKS in a 71-70 squeaker.   

Lasell College LasersWORKING OVERTIME – In a Double Overtime nailbiter the LASELL COLLEGE LASERS faced the visiting MT IDA MUSTANGS. A 31-31 Halftime tie became a 63-63 tie at the end of regulation which became a 71-71 tie at the end of the first Overtime. Finally in the 2nd Overtime the Lasers won out 83-81   ###   And the JUNIATA COLLEGE EAGLES topped the UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON ROYALS 80-79 in a Single Overtime epic. 

Lyndon State HornetsSTRONG OFFENSES – The LYNDON STATE HORNETS body-slammed the visiting JOHNSON STATE BADGERS by a final score of 85-69.   ###   The MEDAILLE COLLEGE MAVERICKS defeated the PSU-ALTOONA LIONS in an 88-80 scoring orgy.   ###   The WHEATON (MA) LYONS topped the CLARK UNIVERSITY COUGARS by 10 points: 86-76.   ###   And the ELMS COLLEGE BLAZERS won an impressive 84-71 road game against the WHEELOCK WILDCATS.
