CENTRAL DISTRICT – The NEOSHO COLLEGE PANTHERS emerged as the Central District champions with a 7-3 victory over the COFFEYVILLE COLLEGE RED RAVENS. The Panthers have an overall record of 35-25. Along the way to the district title Neosho also defeated the DODGE CITY COLLEGE CONQUISTADORS, the FORT SCOTT GREYHOUNDS and the KANSAS CITY COLLEGE BLUE DEVILS.
EAST CENTRAL DISTRICT – The WALTERS STATE SENATORS took this district’s championship by way of a dominant 6-0 shutout of the COLUMBIA STATE (TN) CHARGERS. The Senators boast a season record of 37-16. Left hoping for next year from this district were the GEORGIA PERIMETER COLLEGE JAGUARS, the VOLUNTEER STATE PIONEERS, MIDDLE GEORGIA TITANS and the DARTON STATE CAVALIERS.
EASTERN DISTRICT – The SPARTANBURG METHODIST COLLEGE PIONEERS were the champions of the Eastern District and won the distinction with a SEVENTEEN to TWO annihilation of the POTOMAC STATE (WV) CATAMOUNTS. SMC went 45-13. Teams eliminated from this district were the ASA COLLEGE AVENGERS, the MONROE COLLEGE MUSTANGS, the USC-LANCASTER LANCERS and the HARFORD FIGHTING OWLS.
GULF DISTRICT – The PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE PANTHERS (38-19) are the Gulf District champs for 2013. The STATE COLLEGE OF FLORIDA MANATEES fell to them 3-0 in the title game. Other teams left behind were the MIAMI-DADE COLLEGE SHARKS, the SEMINOLE STATE COLLEGE RAIDERS, the CHIPOLA COLLEGE INDIANS and the HILLSBOROUGH HAWKS.
NORTHERN DISTRICT – The KASKASKIA COLLEGE BLUE ANGELS (39-10) took the crown for this district with a 16-6 drubbing of the WABASH VALLEY COLLEGE WARRIORS. Joining WVC in watching the College World Series from home will be the defending champion IOWA WESTERN REIVERS, the SOUTH SUBURBAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS, the TRITON COLLEGE TROJANS and the MARSHALLTOWN TIGERS.
SOUTH CENTRAL DISTRICT – The CONNORS STATE COWBOYS went an astonishing 52-9 so far this year, culminating with their nailbiting 3-1 title game victory over the DELGADO COLLEGE DOLPHINS. Other South Central District also-rans were the CROWDER COLLEGE ROUGHRIDERS, the MAPLE WOODS MONARCHS, the SEMINOLE STATE (OK) TROJANS and the BATON ROUGE COLLEGE BEARS.
SOUTHEASTERN DISTRICT – The CENTRAL ALABAMA COLLEGE TROJANS (38-13) crushed the SOUTHERN UNION STATE BISON 13-5 to win this district. Teams eliminated along the way were the ENTERPRISE STATE BOLL WEEVILS, the WALLACE COLLEGE-DOTHAN GOVERNORS, the SHELTON STATE BUCCANEERS and the ALABAMA SOUTHERN COLLEGE EAGLES.
SOUTHERN DISTRICT – The NAVARRO COLLEGE BULLDOGS (43-15) defeated the ALVIN COLLEGE DOLPHINS by a score of 4-2 in the district championship game. Additional teams that were stopped short of the World Series were the GALVESTON COLLEGE WHITECAPS, the PARIS COLLEGE DRAGONS, the PANOLA COLLEGE PONIES and the BLINN BUCCANEERS.
SOUTHWEST DISTRICT – The MIDLAND COLLEGE CHAPARRALS (47-13) took the district title with a masterful 8-2 win over the GRAYSON COLLEGE VIKINGS. Also left waiting til next year were the FRANK PHILLIPS COLLEGE PLAINSMEN, the TEMPLE COLLEGE LEOPARDS, the WEATHERFORD COLLEGE COYOTES and the CISCO COLLEGE WRANGLERS.
WESTERN DISTRICT – The COCHISE COLLEGE APACHES won the western district by winning an 18-11 scoring orgy with the WESTERN NEVADA COLLEGE WILDCATS. Other teams who did not make it out of the west were the NORTHEASTERN PLAINSMEN, the SOUTH MOUNTAIN COLLEGE COUGARS, the LAMAR RUNNIN’ LOPES and the COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN NEVADA COYOTES. Congratulations to all these teams as they move on to the 2013 College World Series.
